I got tricked into reading chick-lit again bros... What other books, in your opinion, are chick lit dressed as something else?

— Gone With The Wind
Admittedly pretty good chicklit but it's still chicklit. Masquerades as a serious historical novel. It perhaps is, to be fair, as well as being chicklit.

I once made the mistake of reading a similar book recommended to me by a woman. Never again.

Ah yes, who could have seen that coming.

I wanted to like Gone With the Wind, and it is well-written, but Scarlett O'Hara is such an unlikeable character (which I get is intentional and her naive, arrogant attitude is supposed to mimic the general attitude of the aristocratic antebellum south) Rhett Butler isn't much better, although he has the advantage of being a smug rogue so that makes him a little more likeable.
