Unsure of how successful a journaling general or a persistent journaling thread would be OP. The last one had a fair amount of activity because it has been a while since someone made a thread about journaling, not because there's a good amount of anons that keep a journal.
Anyways, question of the thread: what pens/notebooks do you use to write your stuff?

I'll bump because it's about to die and I like these threads.
Wish I had something to contribute. I'm afraid to open my journal because the last time I wrote in it was when I first had sex with a girl I'd been crushing on and writing about for months. Left me close to a year ago and I'm pretty much over it but opening my journal back up and seeing those pages is not gonna feel good

I haven't journalled in like three weeks fuck me

its quite obvious that getting back into journaling is the resolution you need.
you should be journaling even if you feel like a different person to who you were previously.
>>25298039
looks quite trendy but seems a little small. i cant fathrom writing in anything with small pages. it feels like a significant bottleneck

Its travelers size so about 8.5x5.5. Its Bigger then you think but I tend to write small. But I started getting into stub nibs as opposed to F nibs so that might change.

yeah I definitely should be. It's the closest thing to a kind of therapy I have because I'm actually forced to face my thoughts, plus it's just a nice nightly routine. I tend to only write in it when I'm struggling with something though, things felt good for a while and I got out of the habit. Maybe I'll give it a try tonight.

I just use a pilot g2 with the 1.0 size cart. I've tried a few fancy-ish pens but idk when I get too into stationary porn I end up treating the objects as too precious. Picrel for notebook, just whatever the Japanese bookstore had with thick enough paper to use markers in. I use markers for the date, I try to write it in a new made up font every entry.

it really should be a general, because we live our lives every day, journaling every day aswell. we all have experiences to share, not matter the magnitude. it also has a strong communal aspect to it. these threads keep people journaling, stayinf true to themselves

12.05.26 - 90s simulacra, the last real thing that is left

its another daydreaming of things i will never end up accomplishing day

because i get dopamine through screens instead of honoring life in the real world

and the real world seems to not exist anymore because everyone else is doing the same

so i end up watching movies from the 90s trying to feel something approximating reality

True. But in that same vein, we already have the writing general which some anons have used as a sort of journal. Granted, they don't tend to stick around and write their thoughts daily, but at its core it is similar to keeping a journal in the traditional form. That said, you could make
>/diary/ - Journaling General
or something like that and see how much traction it gets after this thread dies

I dunno, I mainly write on small pocket sized notebooks. Carrying the thing around all day long and making small entries here and there helped me a lot when I was building the habit of journaling
>>
>>25301291
I'd post. Just because it'd give me a little more accountability and maybe help with keeping the habit going

Any serious lover of literature will admit that loving literature is a little faggy.

It’s an old jetpens special I got in 2020. Emerald Green 580.

Does anyone else write in their journal as if there's an expected reader? If there's holes in the timeline I'll write shit like "I haven't mentioned this yet but..." or even sometimes "I haven't told you yet"
Dunno why I do this. I feel like I can't write about an update on something in my life without giving the whole context
>>
>>25302624
There is an expected reader. Future (You).

as per this entry.
I am getting sick of using pens to write. An artist friend of mine suggested a Rötring mechanical pencil and I concluded on the Rötring 800+.
Anyone use Rötring or mechanical pencils here?
>>
>>25304557
Fantastic pencils. Pricey but if you don’t lose it it’ll last a lifetime.
