God dammit, Bezos'd again
>>25296225kek happened to me once too. Fucking Amazon.
>>25296225Is this some print on demand scam? How do you miss it when you buy?
If you buy directly from Amazon, look out for pic rel. At least for this purchase I instantly got my money back without having to send the book back. That's why I like to buy from sellers with actual pictures.
>>25296225elaborate
>>25296934>>25296988I'm not sure if they're actually printed on demand in all cases, but many small publishers and independent authors will try to save money by having Amazon make their books for cheap>>25296959In this instance I didn't see any indication that it was printed by Amazon
I mean I sell books I typeset and format myself with latex on amazon using their PoD services, would prefer to use Lulu but they cost more to produce and there is more visibility on Amazon, maybe if I start some marketing shenanigans to attract people to my website directly I could get rid of Amazon. Having said that, yes, Amazon books are cheap, but the book themselves could be great on the inside, you dont have to buy only from the penguin nigger house or Oxford to have good books. And besides I just sell my books for 7.99 to 11.99 dollars depending on size and number of pages, books shouldn't cost more than that and should be cream black and white, no special editions faggotry. Just look out for obviously cheap covers/descriptions.
>>25296959>I instantly got my moneyOn what grounds?
>>25297385>7.99 to 11.99Just sell for 8 to 12 and stop the jewish shenanigans
>>25296225Is there any way to avoid these? I bout penguin's edition of Smith's morals and it was one of these. Dreadful. Literally has pages coming out, yet there seems to be no way to know.
>>25296225>>25296918I really pity all you poor bastards that live in the cultural, moral, political, intellectual wasteland that is the united states. It considerably astounds me how every single thing there is of worse quality than it's third world equivalent, and yet somehow manages to be several times more expensive.
>>25299004Mine was printed in fucking Poland
>>25298944NTA, but I have returned countless Amazon parcels, faulty or otherwise that have issued a refund prior to return, or outright state that returning isn't necessary. The amount of money that they make means that it is more of a headache and costs more to have you return it than it does to just let you keep the item. Usually this only applies to items of low value.
>>25299015I'm aware, but I want to know why anon is acting like he got scammed somehow.
>>25299004>manufactured by amazon.ca>Bolton, Ontario
They got our boy
>>25298944I've selected that the product didn't meet my expectations and wrote that it wasn't clear to me that this was just a reprint. Also my Amazon account is 15 years old and I've refunded <10 items overall.
>>25299018>>25299872It was the first time I bought a new book on Amazon so I didn't really think to much about the "Reprint" stated on the product page, I just thought it was a reprint directly from Mariner. As it turns out the reprint from Mariner was actually worse, I bought that somewhere else and the book was published by "Mariner Classics" with appx. 5 pages having a decent printing quality and the following 5 pages being absolutely atrocious and that repeats throughout the whole book.Never seen something like that so the Amazon reprint was actually better. Still bought another copy used that was actually the Mariner edition I was looking for. Sorry for blogposting but it's infuriating having to buy 4 fucking books to get the one edition you want. It's not like this was some super rare book or anything.
Amazon's printed books are surprisingly quality. I like them a lot.
>>25296959What about this?
>>25300847The ones I get usually end up with the spine glue subtly melting/leaking onto the cover, making the book sticky to touch. It's really irritating.
>>25296225now post the front
>>25300848Might also be a reprint. Is the book new directly sold by Amazon way cheaper than used options?
