Seriously. I don't mean semi-dissident literature like The Master and Margarita, but real Soviet literature. The only work that comes to mind is Mikhail Sholokhov's "Quiet Flows the Don."

Yes. And Stanislaw Lem, if OP means all the countries in the USSR.

I get triggered when I see this because theres a popular plebbit coded kafana in B*lgrade that bears the main character's name, they have actual 'jaks greeting people with the partisan salute (lol) and i'd rather just have them lined against a wall and shot for maing the general population die of cringe whenver they think of them

As for OP, Bulgakov is my favourite writer of all time. The Pathologic series of games is based on his doctor's notes during the civil war. Later on he wrote The Master And Margarita which might as well be the magnum opus of all literature ever if not for the fact it was heavily censored and cucked by Soviet authorities and the most common versions you'll find today by far stem from the censored copies. I mean it literally begins with the Devil coming to Moscow to see if the process of turning people atheist is progressing according to plan.

the kind of soviet literature that actual soviets read is largely unknown, still, in the west. the only authors promoted here were done for strictly anti-communist purposes. a good start would be stalin prize winners, which were all bestsellers in the USSR

>Bulgakov notes inspired Pathological games
Sounds based. Are they collected in a volume or something?

is this book worth reading?
