What are some non-technical works written by formal and natural scientists?
>>
journal of researches and the origin of species by Darwin are the only books I can think of
>>
The Quark and the Jaguar: Adventures in the Simple and the Complex by Murray Gell-Mann.

It's on my to read this.

I think Oliver Sacks sort of qualifies here.
>>
Whitehead's trilogy
He intuited Spacetime Relativity before Einstein, then a theory better than Einstein's and that predicted Schrodinger/particles as wave energy intensities. Stolen valor.
Exact same empirical predictions but that doesn't contradict Quantum Mechanics, nor does it need Dark Energy or Dark Matter.

>He intuited Spacetime Relativity before Einstein
The commensurability of time and space had been noted dozens of times going back to at least Aristotle and the relativity of all motion had likewise been noted dozens of times going back to at least Descartes. For example:
>"Swift and Slow, are allowed to exist no where without the Mind, being entirely relative, and changing as the Frame or Position of the Organs of Sense varies." / "The same thing which is moved relatively, may be really at rest. As likewise one and the same Body may be in relative Rest and Motion, or even moved with contrary relative Motions at the same time, according as its Place is variously defined." - Berkeley, A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge, 1710
>"I hold Space to be something merely relative, as Time is." - Leibniz, 3rd Letter to Clarke, 1715
>"In the object itself, that is, in producing, space and time can only arise together and unseparated from each other… That one becomes finite through the other means that one is determined and measured through the other." - Schelling, System of Transcendental Idealism, 1800

She stick it up her vag or something?

That made me laugh.

Who? Gates or Feynman?
>>
>>25298071
she stuck it up Feynman's arse
>>
>>25297604
igor shafarevich wrote a book about socialism
>>
>>25297604
Watson and Crick both wrote about the discovery of the DNA double helix, Watson's book is more entertaining. He also wrote a memoir that was awful.

The Emperor of All Maladies is okay content but the style is awful.

Oliver Sacks is for smoothbrains. Feynman is an intolerable loser.

Sacks is such a good human being, a powerlifter and swimmer as well. Feynman is a philistine.

Her critique is literally this
>he's actually her superior!?

Its basically
>he was a womaniser
>he was rude
lol, who cares ffs. Feynman was a revolutionary figurehead in our understanding of the Standard Model. He is easily top-50 scientist of ALL TIME. Him being a douche pervert only adds charm and mystique to his brilliance (see House, MD).

Based

>>25299237
Feynam lacked the depth people like Gell-Mann or Shafarevich had (other two giants mentioned ITT).

He was basically a dudebro but for physics, yes he was a brilliant physicist, yes he won the nobel prize based on merit but he was not a holistic intellectual.
>>
>>25299237
it was more
>he was a cringe liar who made up stories to sound tough and was obviously compensating for something
