Just reached the "My mother is a fish" section and this novel is a supreme example of how a genius author can turn any concept into a masterpiece. This book is amazing.

he wrote it in like two weeks too

I just read it, i didn’t get it. But I’ve never fished with my father and I can’t swim. Never been to a beach either.
>>
I thought it was boring, incomprehensible garbage honestly
Never understood the love for Faulkner

>boring, incomprehensible garbage
Whether it's boring or garbage is a matter of opinion, but it's far from incomprehensible, and you believing it to be so makes me immediately ignore your opinion on the matter.

This was my last read, and I wasn't sure about it at first but eventually it really grew on me and the characters were really impactful.
I have read The Sound and the Fury awhile ago, and AILD seemed like a step down in distinct voices and style at first, since we get more time with each Compson, but there's something very powerful this book that I can't quite articulate yet, having only just read it.

>Reddit Faulkner
Yikes...

Objectively one of the best books of the 1930s.
