You guys told me this was just some shit overrated Dworkinite with a hate boner for Tolkien. He laid the foundation for BOTNS, Berserk, SMT (and by extension Persona), Warhammer and every single property considered "dark fantasy". Not only did he single handedly create the genre of dark fantasy, he also wrote one of the best series in the history of the genre he spawned.

Moorcock is an amazing writer. Top five for me. His influence on insane, across the spectrum of all sorts of media, you really only notice when you look very closely. I actually got into his stuff because of a US power metal band called "Cirith Ungol"
