How do you balance alcoholism with reading?Do you read before drinking, try to read while drunk, or listen to audio?
I read while drinking in pubs and try to sustain my concentration for as long as I can as pint after pint I become less and less able until eventually I'm not taking in any of the book I'm reading at which point I stagger home and beat my wife.
You sound like an amateur. I maintain a steady buzz before, during, and after reading. Never had a problem
I only read before going to sleep. If I get home hammered, I just masturbate and drink some water before going to bed.If you are confused about this, I do this because if I go to sleep too drunk, I literally wake up puking. And I know I am not too drunk if I can maintain an erection.
>>25303072Try to quit. It took me many attempts but finally stuck. I will never drink again. With age hangovers become horrific. Neat bourbon was my thing. But it had become obvious 1 drink was too many and 20 was not enough. RIP booze.
>>25304998I have never had a hangover before.
>>25303072if you approach any sort of sloppiness, your reading wont gor over well, though i guess you can do it.>>25303147this guy sounds a bit like a cunt. drinking is a tough game.>>25304998all hangovers suck, no matter the age, until you only drink nice booze and have time to sleep.neat bourbon is a bad idea for a 'thing'. lots of room between 1 and 20.>>25305027lol ok summer. keep it up if you can.
>>25303072I can only enjoy poetry, music, and art in general when drinking. When I read Paradise Lost drunk I thought it was fascinating and cried several times. I read it twice sober and thought it was boring. There was a three or four day period in the middle of a months long binge where I read The Illiad and Great Expectations while developing a fever and only being able to sleep two hours at a time with incredibly vivid hallucinations. Great Expectations was the most spiritual experience of my life. I thought I died and was living in the book.
