I disagree. Automation requires a very controlled environment with set tasks, paths, and start/complete criteria. If you'd ever worked with complex machines, you're know they require a fuckton of sensors and it's super easy to mess them up. Even the tools shaking themselves during operation can mess themselves up. More often than not, you'll end up with "Der Zauberlehrling" or "Order to Cancel Construction" outcomes if you don't have absolute control over the environment.

Full automation is possible (and it will inevitably happen because it's unstoppable, the first hominid to pick up and split a rock is also a form of automation) because any job can ultimately be broken down into a finite sequence of simple steps aka an algorithm and this is not an opinion, it's a fact. Not a single job will make it from primary to tertiary sector. The jobs that require more specialized knowledge in some specific domains will be the last to go, but ultimately this is just a matter of time.
Will jobs disappear overnight? No, of course not, just like the industrial revolution didn't happen in a month. This time however less new jobs will be made and overall the demand for people doing something will also be lower because with AI assistance a single individual can output as much as 5 people. AI doesn't even have to be perfect and replicate exactly your job, it just has to be good enough. The bigger issue is displacement of the workforce, we are talking potentially hundreds of thousands if not millions of workers, and you can't realistically expect someone at 30+ to pick up highly specialized jobs that require years of schooling and experience, training programs can reduce the impact but they only delay the inevitable.

Unironically one more data center and one more billy, trust the plan. It doesn't matter what you and I think about it as long as the elite class keeps dumping money into it because they think it's achievable, they are pressured into doing so because if they don't do it then someone else will do it.
