A friend recently showed me a chapter from on the condition of the english working class, it was on irish immigration into England. Engels goes on and on about how the immigrants are forcing down wages for the english workers and forcing up rent and replacing them in their own neighborhoods. the irony is engels could actually see all this happening and realize it was a problem while being totally oblivious to communism causing it. it boggles my fucking mind. is it deliberately feigning ignorance?
In my experience, communists are intentionally oblivious even when they don't consciously realize that's what they're doing
