I had no problem with casting an Indian actor as Gawain, but it is just so astonishing what they did to the story. This movie was made by people who either didn't understand the book or genuinely hated it.

had the reverse experience watching the men who stare at goats and then reading it. the movie is just a frivolous comedy wherears the book ends up being a deep dive on mk-ULTRA. the titular "men who stare at goats" are convincingly explained as an example of something the government funds for no reason other than to have an amusing story to leak to the press when they get caught in commiting human rights violations. in essence, the book warned about exactly what the movie did, blot out atrocity with comedy.

The first thing that comes to mind is Artemis Fowl, but I wasn't dumb enough to go see it because it was obvious the film would be shit from the teaser where the fairy letters were all original and weren't actually a cypher for anything. Watched a ton of reviews though and they were all hilarious.
