How would you rank Jane Austen's bibliography? What's your favorite character from her works?

Northanger Abbey > Pride and Prejudice > Emma

I really liked the conceit of Northanger Abbey though I do acknowledge it's probably not as masterfully written as her other novels.

Pride and Prejudice had its moments (Mr. Darcy is based) but a little too dry, whereas Emma was simply too long to be enjoyable. Emma, the novel, is aimless, like the plot repeats itself over and over again.

As for choosing a best character, Mr. Darcy feels like a cop-out answer even though it's objectively correct, so as alternative choices, I'm going to throw out 1) Catherine, the protagonist of Northanger Abbey, who is as stupid as Emma but whose stupidity only negatively affects her (unlike Emma, who ruins lives unintentionally), and 2) Frank Churchill, a character in the latter half of Emma and one of the only good things about that book. I’ve seen a lot of comments online calling Churchill a fratboy, but to me, he almost reads like a Byronic hero, just way, way less evil than Heathcliff or Rochester.

I def plan on reading Persuasion next

I found Mr. Knightley a pretty boring character. Just a mouthpiece for Austen to moralize directly to the audience.

I liked the dad in pride, funny dude kind of reminded me of my grandpa

having read them all a couple times, I always thought it was Emma on the first go around but looking back now Pride and Prejudice is the one that has stuck with me the most, and Elizabeth Bennet the character.
funny ending up with the most basic choices imaginable try as I might have willed otherwise.

This. Her most memorable characters are usually the older men. Dads, weird cousins/uncles, neighbors, etc. The dad in Emma is great too

Least favorite: col. Brandon
Reason: being too relatable
