I grew up in an extremely insular, traumatized little town in Ontario attached to a military base. It's like anti soul, anti community. The people are so damaged they border on retardation from their inability to function normally.Despite growing up there, I left briefly to live in a city not even 2 hours away, when I came back the people act like I'M an outsider because I maintain eye contact and don't sneer at the person I'm talking to. I have no interest in a "hometown"

>>25305762Nah. A 65 year old native born has more in common with other 65 year olds regardless of country of origin than he does with 20 year olds. You guys forget that every generation has its own slang, culture, interests, technology, philosophy, morals and politics.Being in a room full of zoomers should scare you more than being in a room with foreigners your age.
>>25307137>tfw amerimutt crossed between one country that doesn't exist anymore and a bloodline deeply entrenched for 200 years in a state I've never been where literally every person on that side of the family has been buried in the same cemetery that entire time>grew up in a shithole state where the majority dont even speak English I'll never belong anywhere

>>25307146Same but BC. Canadians will import a million foreigners a year, then turn around and complain about how the guy they grew up next to isnt really "from here" cuz their grandparents were from a different province and they spent four years in the city completing a degree.

What's worse is living in a place your whole life and, despite not ever leaving, you feel like a foreigner. Not sure about other countries but this seems to be the quintessential American experience.
