The Great American Novel
>>25306986As good as it is, a novel shouldn't be mogged so hard by the prologue.
DFW on Underworld
is the cover predictive of 911, i assume that's part of trinity church but with the scale and foreground / background it looks like a grave marker for the world trade center
My library has it and every time I go there I get tempted to finally pick this up. Maybe next year.
Pynchon but actually good
>>25306998Why is a word censored
>>25307228Dfw probably did it himself. He has other letters he wrote to DD on the internet and he does the same thing
>>25306998god, what a self-involved prick
>>25306998
>>25307005Delillo is some kind of ordained literary predictive programmer. he also somehow presaged the ohio pollution disaster in East Palestine (more jew magik!). but yeah that's exactly what the cover was intended to serve as, not sure if the contents of the book are relevant but whatever the guy and all the satanist jews who buffer his career are gay
>>25307228Looks like the word censored is "laughing"
Maybe 200 pages longer than it needs to be
>>25306998DFW was such a dork, that's why I love the guy
i forgot why i found the catch funny but now the book is even funnier
>>25306986it was a complete page turner for me, a masterpiece
>>25306986i stopped reading 20 pages in because i hate baseball. i did like white noise tho
>>25307411I was reading Players the other day and thought it was a book he wrote in the 90s or 2000s. Turns out he wrote it in the 70s. Delilo outright embarrasses so called cyberpunk authors who were meant to be envisioning the near future. Gibson can suck a turd.
>>25309883baseball survives almost entirely on nostalgia. u watch it with some boomer a kid, and then later it reminds u of a comfy summer. i remember watching baseball at my friends dad's apartment one summer. his dad bought what must have been hundreds of packs of baseball cards and had us open them and sort them trying to get a complete set or whatever while watching games. now looking back on it, i think his dad was gay. he had a male roommate and a mustache.
>>25309888Gibson is indeed gay.
>>25309883Yeah, this was my exact experience with him. I did buy a copy of Underworld though and plan on trying it again at some point.
