So what do you do if you read Nietzsche and BAP and the Greeks agree with what they have to say on vitality but you know you're not genetically fit for it? That is, what do you do when you know you're a slave? Nietzsche I suppose only writes for the would-be masters and has nothing to say to the slaves. Slave rebellions are looked down on.
This has been my situation recently. I'm ethnically Chinese (a race generally most reviled by Neechee, the BAPosphere, the classicists on account of our historical lack of virtue, and I agree with their criticisms by the way) so even on a genetic level I can't keep up. Those meat and wine-filled diets wouldn't help me build much muscle, it would just clog my arteries and kill me. Despite going weightlifting, I am skinny fat and will probably never look like a Greek statue. I want to be a virtuous person but I doubt I can, and then as a result of that same doubt I know for certain I can't, because a truly great man wouldn't have these doubts at all.
Pic related. Just read the part with Dolon and it depressed me knowing that he is far more similar to me than any of the Greek heroes.

if you don't let resentment parasitize your brain you are already far ahead of the curve
but it's also not a good way to look at it, in the Homeric world itself for example bards were held in very high regard despite being themselves not the type of the aristocracy, a "bard king" not skilled in kingly arts wouldn't have gone far
doesn't Chinese philosophy itself help with the idea of knowing one's place without ressentment? justice after all isn't that everyone must be a hero or a slave, but that everything is in its place
>>
>>25310785
Yes I try to avoid feeling resentment.
>Chinese philosophy
Never read any of it. But I am familiar with Chinese culture and history and I'm not a fan.
>>

>Never read any of it.
The /lit/ motto. My God are you dumb. You haven't even read "the Greeks" or else you wouldn't be saying you agree with "them", as if they were wholly uniform in thought. Many of the very Greeks you look up to, despite not having read them, would find this fixation of yours utterly misguided and archaic even in their own time. Now read those Greeks and read some Chinese philosophy.

Just don't eat like a complete tard and go run, it's really simple but not easy. You can literally do anything you want to.

You won’t get a good physique that way

The hero morallity is facing destiny knowing fuly well the consequences. You will be killed the moment you set your foot on the beach but still doing it. Nietzche together with shoppenhauer was a faggot who fled war and violence but unlike shopp he had the delusion to think he had any right to tell people what being virtuous mean like if he was on pair with ancient heroes. Friederike Krüger and Eleonore Prochaska had more virtue than them.

Chinks dominate olympic weightlifting, what are you smoking.

You are beyond stupid if you take Nietzsche ravings and some homosexual edgelord twitter e-celeb aping Nietzsche seriously in fucking 2026. You should never take anything a self-hating Germ(an) has ever written seriously
>>
>>25310742
Ignore western views and embrace daoism. Virtue is what you make of it.

Ideologues are mind broken by their gay masters. Yes, there is immense value in being healthy and fit. You live like an extra 20 years on average by doing so.
>>
The Christian view of hierarchy is that every man, regardless of how much his mortal body has been blessed, can achieve a kind of greatness in his place. Even a mentally retarded slave can be superior to an aristocrat if he plays his part well. The "vitalist" perspective on hierarchy is that you need to offer your ass to a weak-willed and simple-minded individual role-playing as a bronze age raider immediately.
>>
>>25310742
Man it's sad seeing people take e-celebs seriously. Like have some self-respect man. What even is the point of this post? The enlightened aristocrats that you look upto are too weak to impose their ideas on the world. They're irrelevant twitter celebs, not even real big wigs in the world. A mid ranking CCP officer probably mogs them in relevance.
>>
>>25312281
Fine, N and the Greeks are still more relevant than China ever was.
>>25311776
N served in the military and was described as a promising officer before getting injured.
>>25311889
>>25311808
Chinese civilizational achievements simply aren't that impressive to me when comapred to the West's. A famous Chinese proverb says "in books there are things more beautiful than jade." But this sort of anti-vitalist sentiment ended up breeding a really ugly people over thousands of years. The opposite happened in Europe. And in return, Chinese academia did not even discover/invent much. I would rather look up to Diomedes than some passive nerd monk.

>>

Ok I'll bite, which Greek works would call my goals "misguided and archaic"?
Physical excellence seems like it was always stressed from Mykenaian to Classical times.
>>
>>25312430
The Republic, for the love of God. Did you claim to have read the Greeks without even reading Plato? Did you think reading Nietzsche alone would be sufficient? Even much of what his beloved Thucydides wrote flies right in the face of this modern internet subculture you've attached yourself to. Forget everything else and pick up a copy right now, because you cannot consider yourself educated without having read it. Not looking like a statue is the least of your problems. Plenty of people go to the gym without being as dumb as you.
>>
>>25310742
Anon you're a fucking retard and the people other than Nietzsche you worry about are even dumber. The Iliad was ultimately a story of Greek heroes at their very best and very worse which ends in genocide on the Trojans and the divine punishment of the greeks by their own gods for their sacriledge (aside from Diomedes and Nestor who are the only 'good' moral greeks who left early).
Greek heroes are not paragons of virture, one greek hero,a king of Thebes and demigod, Pentheus is bascially trans coded, wants to watch and join the naked women only Baccic rituals before he is literally torn apart by naked frenzied women and his head ripped off by his own mother.
Achilles conducts human sacrifces into Patrokles funeral pyre and is implied to eat the raw flesh of Hector, which magically heals each morning. And then bemoans being dead and famous in the afterlife and denounces renoun, glory and fame and says it sbetter to simply live your life and be happy. Greeks heroes are NOTHING like you imagine.
READ PRIMARY BOOKS
And china has a history of civlisation andl literacy longer than anyone else on earth. When retarded europeans lived in mudhuts and had no concept of the written language their were bureaucrats in China complaining about endless paperwork that needed doing. THAT would be celebrated by the greeks, governance, burecracy, order, literacy these were highly prized not some vague aesthetic of being a master or slave

>then bemoans being dead and famous in the afterlife and denounces renoun, glory and fame and says it sbetter to simply live your life and be happy
That passage is mostly Achilles expressing how much it sucks to be dead. But he does wish to be alive again so he can take revenge on those that have wronged him, and when he hears of his son doing great things he is proud. I do not think that Achilles means "if I could go back in time I would live differently."
>bureaucrats in China complaining about endless paperwork that needed doing. THAT would be celebrated by the greeks, governance, burecracy, order, literacy
This isn't true though. Greeks prized physical excellence, not being a secretary filling out forms all day. China's conquests mainly occurred when more robust barbarians, like Mongols or Manchus, took over and mobilized the people into fighting. But whenever the Han ruled (or when the Manchus acculturated into the Han), the state degenerated into "memorizing 10000 lines of Confucius for the civil service exam." The end result was never impressive. The number of scientific and even literary achievements pale in comparison to the West.
You can even see this in modern China, where nobody plays sports, schools don't allow girls to wear makeup. They are promoting a society of ugly nerds that aren't even that smart. Greece is nothing like this. There was never a Chinese Alexander the Great for a reason.
>>25312613
Ok, fair, I haven't read Greek nonfiction.
>>
aceept being a slave? accept your place in the natural higherarchy

Nta just read non-fiction, the stoics, cynics etc.
Many were quite critical and it will show you Greek thought and opinion varied.

Can someone please explain to me what OP meant by BAP and BAPosphere?
>>
>>25312430
Physical excellence was put in the forefront because they ran on a slave economy where if you are not successful in war you don't get the required slaves.

Now it's a bit different, physical excellence is still important to safeguard your brain against IQ decline.

Coming from an ugly timid dork who was a pathetic simp and never touched a woman in his entire life. It's clear even Nietzsche didn't follow his edgelord ''philosophy'' and it was just the escapist ravings of a loser. They had no videogames back then, otherwise he wouldn't have written anything, he'd have played Mount and Blade or other similar games to LARP as le great aristocratic warrior like so many similar nerdy losers do nowadays
>>
>>25313746
You're retarded but I won't tell you why
>>
Nietzsche threads are interesting because it seems to mostly be people who've never read him arguing over points made in video essays by people who didn't understand him
>>
>>25313819
You are right, but certain passages from Twilight of the Idols are kinda hard to interpret in a good way with nuance.

N served in the military and was an avid outdoorsman

He got injured at officer corps tryouts then volunteered as a nurse. Not to say this isnt noble or life affirming but he didn't make the cut.
