Do you think that Holocaust literature would be better respected if it didnt consist of media for children?
It seems that in USA the only thing amerimutts know about the Holocaust came from Anne Frank's diary, Schindler's List and that 6 million Jews died in it, which seems to be invertly correlated with how important they regard it as.
For example here in Poland as part of our curriculum we read stories written by Tadeusz Borowski. He talks about his experience in Auschwitz-Birkenau in a way that I find very similar to Clavell's King Rat. He writes about day to day life with various cruelties of camp life just being a part of life there. In fact, people adapting to camp life is one of the core themes of his books. He also shares some interesting thoughts such as comparing forced labour of concentration camps with slave labour of Ancient Egypt or Roman Empire.
I'm positive other European countries have their own Holocaust literature, written by their own countrymen about their own countrymen, while for Americans Holocaust happened somewhere in Europe, to Jews, which is probably why Holocaust denial is so popular there.

So desperate to discuss Americans. Comes off very childish.

Holahoax did not happen. They had humane accommodations in the “concentration camps” which are more accurately called detention centers. There were no gas chambers. They had swimming pools.

That's part of the grift. Holocaust literature was part of the broader post-war money making scheme jews were engaging in. That's why most of these books turned out to be fake ("but it was real in my imagination, etc.").
It also served it's function to indoctrinate people into the Holocaust narrative which the jews have profited from in several ways since then.

This. Nazis wanted Israel and were making resorts for kikes while German men were dying in commieland.
And for what? Because Stalin killed all those Jews from the first Central Committee and called them traitors?

The commies are the true antisemites.

Letting people write fiction that captures the vibes but then having it be accepted as 100% fact unquestionably blanket wide and forcing kids to read it before they've even learned about American history seems bad

Holocaust literature would be better if it wasn’t desperately trying to tug at the heart strings like political propaganda and looked at things a bit more academically and philosophically. There’s a reason Hannah Arendt’s writings on the banality of evil still endure.
