They both started as short story writers, getting their works published in sci-fi magazines, and both write about interesting, out-of-the-box concepts. Hell, even their writing style is similar. Asimov is a product of technological and scientific optimism and fascination. Watt is a product of modernity where science and technology are misaligned insentively and something between banal destructive and dangerous.
