We also read the futurist and dadaist manifests as well.

Serious question -- do you enjoy your job? Every time I talk to an attorney, they all say the same shit. "This sucks, this was a massive mistake, I'm constantly overworked and incredibly stressed out all the time" etc. What does the workday look like for you? What do you do at work? Do they pay you well enough to put 'do I like or not like this' aside?
>>
>>25329661
>What does the workday look like for you? What do you do at work?
Every day is a little different, but the perfectly average day is 70% reading terms, 20% writing drafts, and 10% meetings. Sometimes I get to do legal research which I really enjoy. I work plaintiff side so no billable hours. I also have the privilege of only going into the office twice a week.
>Every time I talk to an attorney, they all say the same shit. "This sucks, this was a massive mistake, I'm constantly overworked and incredibly stressed out all the time"
I'm generally done with my work by 5PM, but yeah sometimes you have hell weeks.
Between undergrad and law school I worked at an Amazon warehouse for about a year and that was undoubtedly the most miserable time of my entire life. I sit in an air conditioned office and I read/write all day for 6 figs. Its not that bad.
Lawyers tend to come from very privileged backgrounds (I among them) and tend to bitch about everything as a result. The only reason I am a little more self aware is because I am diagnosed bipolar and I know what its like to go a little insane.
>>
>>25329688
>bipolar lawyer
That’s a kino book set up. Imagine he’s the prosecutor and representing a murder victim and goes crazy during the trial and murders the defendant. Whether or not the defendant was truly guilty is left unstated by the narrator. It sounds a little cliche though so maybe it’s a better movie.
No offense

Amateur theatre is a thing
Even has 'amateur' in the name. I don't think they only expect someone as skilled as Laurence Olivier to come through the door.
>>
>>25329651
You don't want to if thats your interest. Modern theater sucks if you want to act out the greeks and shakespeare as written. They need funding and eyeballs. The way they get that is by being as outrageous and modern and interesting as possible. They don't cater to you chuds. My local community group just did a play on being trans. They also do adult entertainment

I have no literary ambitions, i just vibe write when i have the time but otherwise i just read shit on politics or history or philosophy. More particularly im interested in the history of philosophy and how certain institutions ossify and become too rigid to exist until newer ideas take over. The period of time between the fall of rome and the fall of byzantium are particularly interesting to me

I've been trying for a while to get published in magz with short stories and they always shoot me down with form letters. I've actually recently started to grow a audience on my own. Not a huge number but names I regularly see who enjoy what I write which is all I want out of this world. I think the key is to just completely bypass traditional publishing and debut on the scene with your own base.

I manage a kitchen at a short term nursing facility. Many of the patients have issues with eating so I make sure they are served the right food. Along with making sure the kitchen will pass state inspection. What you are thinking of is a Registered Dietitian they make sure that residents don’t loose to much weight, explain what they should and shouldn’t eat in their diet, and calculate how much to give patients on a feeding tube. I’m decent at my job but hate it so am in the process to get my masters in food science.

I majored in STEM and it fucking wrecked my life. I hated it so much. I hated the field and the jobs. I hated my classes. I hated my stunted professors. I got terrible grades and did no internships or extracurriculars and had no friends. I studied it because every fucking time I voiced an interest in humanities I got asked
>what are you going to do with that?
I grew up poor and desperate and knew College was my only shot.
I didn't drop out due to immense pressure from my parents.
I was a scared misguided easily mislead teenager and that ruined me. It destroyed me. Trump was elected during my time at college so that was the world I was in. Then of course I graduated into the worst fucking job market possible and of course STEM jobs weren't an option at all for me with most of them being replaced by my AI.
Now I'm older. I have a worthless paper I'm ashamed of for its symbol as an utter compromise of morals and passion. I wasted my chance. I destroyed myself utterly for nothing.
