Clarice Lispector is one of the greatest writers yet /lit/ ignores her because of what's between her legs. How shallow can you be?
>>25330030I want to fuck her slutty red mouth
>>25330030Just put the novel in the bucket.
>>25330033Oh wait I just remembered who this is, I take it back. She does seem relatively talented but the subject matter of her books seems tedious and uninteresting, to me.
>>25330040i agree, not enough fire-breathing dragons or exploding airlocks
>>25330044This but unironically Even some spittin' outlaws would be a welcome reprieve
>>25330030The only thing she should have wrote was a grocery list.
>>25330030So what was great about her works?
I'll only read one of her novels. Which one?
>>25330257not OP but I've read two of her novels so far and a solid 3rd of her huge short stories collection, and IMO the short stories are much much better. If you can track down a copy of "Family Ties", that's her best offering from my experience so far.The two novels I read are considered by most to be her best it seems, fwiw
All her books are exercises in meandering, overwritten, hysterical navel-gazing.
>>25330268I'm a big fan of Lispector desu but I do agree with you. You could say the same thing about something like Beckett maybe, minus the hysteria. There's a method to the madness imo, sometimes she's completely off the rails and it's hard for me to get something out of it, but sometimes her shit hits hard. She's making big swings, they're either home runs or strikes. I am a fan of weird experimental art generally though so I'm more than willing to suspend my disbelief that something is just nonsense in hopes of finding something brilliant. I totally get why most people couldn't give a fuck though
>>25330268yeah, those are all good things
>>25330257The Passion According to GH, easy. But you should really read Agua Viva, The Hour of the Star, and Near to the Wild Heart too>>25330268>filtered
>>25330030I would only read her because of what’s between her legs, and would only think about what’s between her legs whilst I read her works. You’ve never met an ally like me before.
>>25330030/lit/ would love her if they gave her a chance. She's like a mix of Beckett, Woolf, Borges, and Kafka. She's a fucking alien. Apparently she wrote her first novel in two weeks when she was a teenager and never revised anything she wrote, ever. Her cronicas are good, been leafing through those, but you've got to like Lispector to like them.>>25330257Honestly >>25330267 is right her story collection "Family Ties" is where I'd start. Disagree on the novel bit though
>>25330257Ignore everyone else and read The Hour of the Star
>foid litkek
>>25330030Wait, what’s between ‘her’ legs? Tranny?
>>25331583A penis, yes.
>>25330046Read Guimarães Rosa there's a cute brazilian outlaw tomboy in one of his books
>>25331617which book
>>25330268you're completely right
Reading Lispector reminded me of when some anon insisted that every book written by a woman is some kind of auto-hagiography.
>>25331666Grande Sertão, cant recall the english name, im unsure if there even is a translation since it's a pretty untranslatable text
>>25330267purchased. thanks anon.
>>25330030>>25330267>>25330451>>25332383Why are you trying to persuade /lit/ into liking this trash? If you want to discuss goyslop I'm sure there are better places to do so, not every site has to read the same books.
>>25332421Anon
>>25332329LMAO I can't unsee this, holy shit .
>>25332421I have no interest in her writing and support repealing the 19th etc. and so on but I don't think it makes any sense to call it "trash". Don't be a faggot baby.
>>25332421Lispector's great, come on. There's no need to pretend she's bad
>>25332471I liked the hour of the star but I found near the wild heart and G.H boring
>>25332421I didn't try to convince anybody, this is a thread about her and I just said I like her.
>>25332507Please don't listen to that faggot, op. I like your thread quite a lot
>>25330451>Borgesoh? what do you recommend of her works? i'll give her a chance if she can be bridged to borges...
This is a gay twink thread
>>25332347it's ok, I am br*zillian
