>>25332085The scene where the guy was getting choked by the prostitute is the starting point. >2 converts>2 slaves with 2 masters apieceMakes that 3 way scene look tame by comparison if she just started choking anjin and commenting on the juxtaposition of the conversions. No man hands though.
>>25332154what, so start with shogun?
>>25332085Publishing order
>>25332085If you want to follow the saga it should be by internal chronology, so start with Shogun.
>>25332752>>25332889do the stories reference each other? or is it just white man in asia
>>25332085Show was "entertaining" but kinda cringey at times, are the books worth reading?
>>25333658ignorant gaijin like you wouldnt understand
It's not really a saga, it's a group of standalone stories set in an author's personal created universe. Very minor connections only. And the best book by far is Shogun which has nothing to do with any of the others.
>>25333288There is a meta story that connects them but it’s stronger in some books than others. >>25333288>>25333658Entertaining but a bit cringe describes the books I think. This was still in living memory of WWII and writing sympathetic japs was bold for the time, he tries to be historical but it’s pop history and the amount of pillowing references alone will make you cringe.
>>25334177>meta storyso should i do publishing or chronological order
>>25332085Publishing order, though honestly it doesn't really matter. Each book is its own thing. They all reference each other in one way or another, with Shogun having arguably the least amount of connections to the other books. Honestly Tai-Pan and Shogun are the best ones in the series, the rest go from mostly okay to being a downright waste of time (Whirlwind)
>>25335388very nice, will go with publishing orderwhirlwind is late in the series so can decide whether to read it or not later
Umm. King Rat really isn't part of the saga; it's a fictional account of his POW experience during WWII.
>>25336577There are some minor characters shared between it and Noble House, so yes, it technically is
>>25336577erm acktually
>>25332085>spends entire show bitching about how bad she wants to die>has multiple opportunities to kill herself every episode>never does because her feudal lord said noNever understood this. She's not supervised every moment of every day, she has easy access to weapons/other means of death, she has no relatives to dishonor, she hates her husband, doesn't care about her son, and she doesn't believe in hell. So she must not want to kill herself that badly, but nobody ever calls her on it
>>25337868your first mistake was listening to what women "want"its all to subvert expectations when she doesnt seppuku
