The Horus Heresy series has 25,000 pages. For all the time you spend reading 25,000 pages you could read all the great works of the western canon and more.

Not sure if you’re ragebaiting but some of the Halo novels are unironically good scifi. Greg Bear was an established scifi author whose Forerunner books (the ones in OP’s pic) are honestly pretty good.

Is it worth it to get into? Or is too much of an autistic rabbit hole? I get the feeling that it is very, very autistic. Even less so than something like Sonic or Pokemon.

It started as a black comedy satire of a lot scifi and contemporary politics back in the 80s. But Games Workshop forgot that their main customer base were a bunch of fucking turbo autists who wouldn't see the satire and they started treating the absurd grimdark setting like a super serious piece of art. GW just mass produced a lot of slop to appeal to said autists because of course autists have no standards, just look at sonic. And now of course those autists are doing tiresome culture war shit because their super serious lore got changed.

Anyway just look at the concept art and maybe play some of the video games, nothing else is of value.
