>"I have never been institutionalized. I have been a religious hermit affiliated with the Roman Catholic diocese of Paris, France since the early 1980s. I am also a philosopher specialized in Husserl and the Austro-German roots of both phenomenology and analytic philosophy. I stress Husserl's philosophy of objectivity. I was born into an old Spanish New Mexican family in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I graduated from Redlands High School in Redlands, California in 1968. I had begun studying philosophy and foreign languages at San Bernardino Valley Community College in September 1967. In December 1970, I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a major in philosophy. I wrote a Senior Honor's thesis on Descartes and Husserl. From 1972-1974, I prepared a Master's degree in Comparative Literature at UCR, with a specialty in 20th French Literature and Philosophy. From 1974-1976, I taught philosophy and English in the California Community College system. From 1976-1979, I worked as a translator while I prepared a Master's thesis at the Sorbonne under Maurice Clavelin. I was then briefly a doctoral student in Philosophy at Princeton. Afterward, I became a religious hermit and social worker at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart living in poverty with the poor in the Washington DC inner city. From 1984-1987, I prepared a doctoral thesis entitled "Le Mot et la Chose chez Husserl et Frege" under Professor Clavelin at the Sorbonne. Since then I have been an independent scholar publishing books and articles. For decades I enjoyed the unfailing, faithful, unselfish and generous support of the philosophers Jaakko Hintikka, Ruth Barcan Marcus, Paul Gochet, Ivor Grattan-Guinness, Dallas Willard, Barry Smith and Roger Schmidt. I had four contracts for four books about Nazi Germany and the Catholic Church. It was based on the first two volumes I submitted. The publisher cancelled all the contracts shortly after I submitted the manuscript for the third volume. The reasons given were inept and surrealistic. I have published over 30 of the chapters on this site and on Reasearch.net."https://independent.academia.edu/ClaireOrtizHill
>>25335664"Masters" and "doctorates" should be replaced the subject in the title. You can't write a thesis on Descartes and Husserl and call yourself a Master in Philosophy and pretend to be equal to people doing real philosophy.
So why did the publisher cancel her?
>>25335664She seems like an interesting lady. RIP.
>>25338294She seems miles ahead of current women in philosophy. A real shame she died.
>>25338367I don't wanna be the one to break this to you but everyone does
