I think your interest in literature is performative. I think you're a performative reader. I've deemed you a performative reader.

Hoo boy, someone skipped his media literacy classes.
>>
I think social media shitlibs obsessed with this label are unconsciously uncomfortable with men taking reading or ideas seriously. It’s their will to power wanting to shame men into submission for their benefit. It’s also evidence that books aren’t worthless pursuits.
>>
>>25343831
I’m sorry I didn’t hear what you said, I’m reading.
>>
>>25343956
I think they are intimidated by men expressing intelligence earnestly, they see it as taking the power back.

You sound pretentious

>there's already another thread about this.
How are you this passive aggressive OP? Be a real frog!
>>
>>25343973
How performative to post something like this.

And I got a You for it.

i think all of this is pure projecting, they cant fathom that people might do something for themselves without having the need to impress. I know this because im n envious seething weasel with a touch of narcissm too, so i always assume the worst of everything
>>
>>25344014
Maybe you're envious of their envy.
>>
>>25344014
Performative narcissism.

yes, because they seem to get away with it, and by calling it out i try to place myself above them, although my success is very little. Even the above and my seemingly thought.out selfreflection are only means to fuel my narcissm and to think of myself as better and my envy as more proper as theirs. In fact i am sitting alone in my little room not enjoying a single second of life, just being angry at everything and everyone and most of all angry at myself. Will i change my ways even a tiny bit? Ofcourse not
>>25344020
well you gotta work with what you have. Maybe i take comfort in that
>>
>>25344014
I think you’re projecting your depression on their envy desu
>>
>>25344029
>envy as more proper as theirs
Kek, made me chuckle
>>
>>25344014
This is true. There's a reason why women, by far the more performative gender, are the ones who most frequently accuse others of performative reading.
>>
>>25343831
I think there's probably some truth to this. I think on some level, I'm performing at all times even when I'm alone. I blame my bullet journal.
>>
>>25344256
Even more, I think they use that understanding shamelessly and as pregiven to lend themselves an air of authority to use the word oppressively. Women like this want to be seen as high attention span fiction enjoyers superior to gaymers, so of course they want to abuse young males likening themselves as in an ever more prim aesthetic meditation.

This Zoe Quinn wannabe with her fat ugly face nowhere close to concealed by the caked on makeup really adds to the rage bait in that vid, the type of girl you could justifiably punch through a wall having done literally nothing wrong.

>nobody is sincere. ever
>everyone is just larping (performing (posing (pretending))) all the time
i know you're trolling but i'm getting tired of hearing this shit said with any seriousness, it sounds like the kind of thing that can only come out of the mouth of a compulsive liar who distrusts everyone, their grandmothers and their grandmother's sick dying dogs
>>
>>25344964
"Performative" and "culture" are just faggot words.

The more I read about this the more I want to go read outside in public. I was already doing that because it's easier for me to focus while out in the open. But the thought, even the slightest possibility, of someone being mad about it fills me with joy. Have my motivations been corrupted? Maybe a little, but I can afford it.

I can't be because who the fuck would want to perform being interested in picrel. It's a vagina deterrent.
>>
>>25346405
Nonfiction chads are exempt. I think the "performative" thing is more about dudes reading IJ in public places with a pretentious expression on their face
