It's a weird thing because American Jews know they're a minority and are insecure about it. In Israel, Jews are the majority so Judaism is the norm and Hebrew is an everyday spoken language, and most people also serve in the military which is way different from what Jewish kids from New Jersey which rich parents experience (for the most part), also everyone has multiple generations of war veterans in their families.
