So "cultural Marxism" comes down to promoting literacy in place of television, and complex music in place of mass-produced pop music?
I don't really care about this garbage corner of political discussion any more but cultural marxism doesn't make sense to me after reading some of the frankfurt schools books. These were people who believed capitalism was destroying culture, not that culture itself needed to be destroyed and replaced.
>>25352699well since economic marxism was completely wrong and failed they had to pivot to being taste snobs which of course really resonates with the proletariat, well for definitions of the proletariat that consist entirely of grad students.
Gramsci, Marcuse, and Adorno only advocate for the promotion of high culture which is politically useful for Marxist class struggle.
>>25352710>well since economic Marxism was completely wrongWas it? I'm not necessarily starting an argument over the practicality of socialism since I no longer give a shit but it would be silly to say that Marx got capitalisms faults wrong. Dialectical materialism is objectively correct.
>>25352716>Dialectical materialism is objectively correct.Ah shit, here we go again.
>>25352710Its a deviation from actual communism
