It's such an odd book in that I feel the very same type of sensations and urges I do when I play an actual rpg game, like the antcipation of creating a party, leveling up, etc. I've never had those feelings invoked by a book before.
It's an easy, fun read. i wish more genre authors took note of his pacing. Most scifi and fantasy are so overwrought and sluggish I abandon them after the first chapter,

It reminds me of Scott Pilgrim. It's not great lit, it's not going to age great, but it captures a certain facet of a certain time period insanely well. It maintains being an adventure with twists and payoffs and it's not trying to be a hard read. I've really enjoyed my time with it, but I don't think I'll have anything to reference from having read it.
