Why would he specify something like that when the revolution was going on right during his life. Anyone would've assumed that the people will overthrow their lords anyday and the french project would reach it's natural conclusion.

It's better to just treat Marx as a deterministic historiography. That is, you won't do shit but everyone will eventually end up where they need to end up. Nothing more and nothing less
