Question: is keeping books standing up like this bad for them? or does it do not very much harm at all? because it’s the most convenient way to have them on my nightstand so I can grab whichever one I like without moving a whole pile. If the consensus leans not very much a problem, I’ll grab some bookends and make it permanent. Also, POST YUOR SHELVES PLOX.

>>25360354Why would it be bad? For the hardbacks certainly not, and if you can get a paperback to remain standing, it won't be bad for it either. Might fall over without bookends though. Like you could just use the massive fucking Shakespeare volume as a "bookend" instead of the Keats paperback.

Otherwise you have to stack them up until you finish them.

>>25360354This >>25360392 anon is wrong, you have to keep your hardbacks horizontal because if the book has too many pages then the weight will detach them from the hardback.
>>25362408>Otherwise you have to stack them upBut if you do that, you'll damage the spines.
