>all those guys from 500 years ago that disagreed with each other?>they actually all agree Was this nigga retarded?
>>25362127>Was this nigga retarded?how many funs would you like to have?
that one is even better.
>>25362127that's literally how all religions and cults functions.Humanity is pretty weird, if something was written 500 years ago people will think it must be special, but something written today can't be.For example, the same Christians who say the bible is inerrant, don't accept the book of Mormon because it was written recently. Christ, Buddha, Muhammad were all overturning the religious traditions of their time. But when someone comes along who wants to overturn Christianity, Buddhism, Or Muhammad, each of those people who support the thousand year old over-turners will reject the new one. So whenever a new religion gets started, you have to make it legitimate by claiming to be continuing the past religion. Christianity claimed to fulfill the prophecies of the jewish scriptures, and Jesus christ claimed to have been the guy who was prophesied by John the Baptist in order to get the followers of John to follow him. Islam claimed to be a continuation of the prophecies of jesus christ. The bab claims to have been the guy who was prophesied by that other guy. The Neoconfucians claimed to have followed Confucius, and Confucius claimed to be a mere compiler of the knowledge of the ancients. Do you see how this works yet?
>>25362127I actually haven’t read Plotinus but is this at all like the Polybus/ On Nature of Man intro where he says all Monists fundamentally believe the same thing and that fighting over Positivism vs Idealism is nitpicking?

>>25362127Thank you for using your language to indicate that you are a hopeless fucking moron who (with 99.9% confidence) has not even read Plotinus, saves me the time it would take me to write a real response.>>25362775No OP most likely hasn't even read a page of Plotinus.
