sorry to bring things down to the wretched level of tabletop roleplaying games, but i think it's interesting that an early interest of the old school renaissance, or osr, movement in online rpg circles in the mid 00s was a kind of rhizomatising of dungeon layouts. commercial d&d products of that period had reduced the dungeon to a linear series of encounters modeled after the 'story beats' of movies; you proceed linearly from encounter to encounter, with a carefully paced ramp-up in difficulty, and arrive at the climactic fight with the Big Bad at the end. what osr enthusiasts found exciting when returning to old-school dungeons were the multiplicity of entrances and mazy interconnections, allowing near limitless routes and all kinds of unexpected emergent situations. these dungeons didn't assume that 'feeling like you're in a movie' was the supreme object of desire. what does this mean for metaphysics? i will leave you to figure it out for yourself, gentle reader.

Huh, I guess that settles it. Hierarchy Is inevitable as an outgrowth of the human desire for a satisfying life

Reminder that the "tree of life" (such as the pic (You) posted) originates from Porphyry. But few know this.

The parallel is like all this shit it’s made up by humans to tickle human fancies for systematization, so the RPG fantasies mirror theological systems not in imitation but in de facto origination, and only retards invested in “it was real in my mind” copes will try to argue for substantive differences, even as they categorically reject all theology that isn’t their preferred chosen one, on what they insist is some logical ground but is in fact only aesthetic.
