this is like some shit some dumb bitch would read. but I guess im some dumb bitch because I enjoyed it and found it very pleasant and easy to read. Kazuo is crystal clear in his verbal and written communication, its kind of crazy.
>OP provides yet another example that posts about prose are written by retards
i liked the clarity, i just didn't care for the character or the story, seems like he wanted to write something like downton abbey but settled for mediocre, i probably would have liked it more if i hadn't watched downton abbey
I enjoyed the message of not obsessing over your past. I also liked the message of how small interactions may determine so much in the future. Stevens chose professionalism at every turn to a point where he felt dehumanized.
A poor man’s mishima
>>25371263My daughter recommended this to me, but I told her I don't read butler stories.
>>25373150that doesn't need to be translated so it can be enjoyed RAW
i finished this last week and thought it was excellent. very clear why he won the nobel and booker. looking forward to reading more by him. loved how autistic stevens is about trying to make jokes with people.
>>25371263such a boring and pointless book. Nothing interested happened, nothing interesting was said, textbook prose. This is unironically co-worker literature. I'm a wagie-butler who wasted my life being a wagie-butler, the world has changed now that I am old, wahhhh. Btw this author is a mega-manlet irl
