What am I in for?
Pure dogshit. Do not waste your time on Russell, he’s reddit incarnate
>>25372866Russell is pretty good
>>25372886He’s only Reddit after his pivot to world peace and politics. His mathematical philosophy is elite
>>25372896>His mathematical philosophy is eliteAnon.........
>>25372896His mathematical philosophy is 5% of his output and was already rightfully trashed by real mathematicians at the time, before Russell mostly abandoned it himself. There is a different in quality in the sense it is merely bad as opposed to vomit inducing like the rest of his writing.
>>25373135>real mathematicians>implying Russell isn’tgtfo.
>>25373137Russell indeed is a non-entity in mathematics. Poincare, to give a particular name, was the greatest of his generation and rightfully mocked the cuck. As I said Russell abandoned his own early philosophy of mathematics and largely stopped caring afterwards. Russell was at his (relative) best as a philosopher of language, which is very different from mathematics, and even on this fornt plagued the so-called analytic philosophy with descriptivism.
>>25373146You’re a retard who should kill himself.
>>25373147The intellectual might of cuckoldry apologists (like Russell).
>>25372866This is the autistic reddit rationalist atheist Anglo utilitarian empiricist analytic positivist equivalent of Al-Ghazali’s “The Incoherence of the Philosophers”.
>>25372866I liked the book overall. The chapter on truth is interesting and the argment in the chapter on universals has become a classic. Enjoy reading the book and don't listen to 4channers who claim that everything is reddit. They probably never read.If you read the book, we can discuss it a little. For example, i think that the argument for universals is very convincing, and I too think that Russell is a tiny bit reddit, not just in his political writings, but just read the book. He was a smart man and had time to write and think. If you have the time to read his works, do so - you don't have to agree with him in order to learn from him.I liked the example of the table and the painter very much. The book is a good entry point imo.I am currently working through his books and papers from 1904 - 1915. Russell's relation to Meinong and Idealism is interesting. Russell often changed his opinions. For me that indicates that he critically re-evaluated his position. That is the true Socratic spirit.
