>>25373269>>25373299What's your beef with him?
>>25373301He's the kind of boomer who goes hysterical the moment he sees a louis vuitton
>>25373301The Nobel goes to the author who "in the field of literature, produced the most outstanding work in an idealistic direction." This basically rules out all postmodern authors in principle, because postmodernism tends to take an ironic, detached, satirical, and cynical view of the world, and this is all true of Delillo's works. I don't think a single postmodern author, properly speaking, has received the Nobel. Yes, Delillo is a good writer with many strong novels and a brilliant style to his name. I didn't watch the video because it's too long so feel free to give a tl;dr.
>>25375428I don't think he takes a cynical view of postmodern capitalist society at all. There's mostly awe and fascination towards it. He made me appreciate garbage logistics and mass tourism.
His biggest proponents on this board have almost universally been arrogant pseuds which does not encourage me to pursue his works.
>>25375428Krasznahorkai is a postmodernist who has won the nobel.
>>25375428Bob Dylan won so the Nobel prize is worthless
>>25375502>There's mostly awe and fascination towards it.Even worse.>>25375616He very clearly writes in the modernist tradition.>>25375624Seethe until the end of time about that if you want, I guess
