What the hell happened to the /lit/ Kant culture? These threads used to run into the hundreds of replies. There were three or four hardcore kantians always arguing, Kant memes, like ten Kant threads a day. /lit/ sucks now.
>>25374666Kant was in vogue throughout the Anglosphere philosophy departments, during the 2010s. He’s sort of popular in the Middle East today as well but I sense interest in Kant has dwindled since the catching on of various other philosophies. Kant requires too many assumptions about human faculties and human nature, as a systematic philosophy and universal mode of thought. What is becoming popular is more cognitive science, from what I can tell, and while Kant has a place in that, he’s studied more by specialists. /lit/ is more a back alley for graduate students and most of them either have jobs now or stopped posting. Maybe some are in academia now.

Kant threads are only fun when the majority doesn't know what's going on, but that's unlikely these days
>>25374666I tried reading this once and it was an incomprehensible word salad.
>>25374755why?

Kantian philosophy is dead thank god. The entire scientistic worldview and all the philosophies that proceed as if it’s fact have completely fallen apart. Kantian ethics are no different.
>>25374779afaik they still teach him in intro phil of sci courses
I see less Kant threads now but when I was studying Kant I always found if I made a thread a lot of people would come and give very detailed answers. Even for schizo questions of mine like "Can language be a thing in itself?"
