Since Jan. 2025, I've woken up every single day and pursued self-improvement as much as humanly possible. The result, after 1.5 years? No change. To even work on these projects at all places an extraordinary burden on me, with side effects of insomnia, stomach problems, hair falling out, and more. I've actually developed circulation problems because I genuinely can't focus on my work unless I keep a huge amount of muscles tensed to help myself focus, and end up with super cold feet. I wish we as a society could be more honest about what we know vs/ what we don't know. So many times, if you're a person with an intellectual bent, you'll realize that when society decides it collectively really wants to know something, it will just latch onto the first theory someone comes up with and decides that this is correct, even when the world around it repeatedly proves it wrong. No wonder myths were the first science. You probably had one guy who was like, huh, I've been in the forest all my life and have yet to see a single nymph. So I guess we're all just pretending that nymphs are real, because right now the myths are all we have, so we'd rather believe in something obviously incorrect than to admit to ourselves that we just don't know something.

I have a new job that focuses on legal writing. I have been proud of my output thus far, but I turned in an assignment yesterday I felt unconfident about. My reviewer came to me today to tell me I did such a great job. I laughed and explained I did not expect that. He seemed stunned that I felt unconfident about it and told me 'don't let others change your prose'.
