Do you have any books on your phone?
performative reading is not my thing
>>25381139reading on your phone is the opposite of performative
People that read books like pic related do this.
I was on a ferry in new york. It was super duper windy and multiple guys were sitting around on the deck pretending to be able to read while the wind was blowing all their pages at like 20 MPH gusts. It made me realize that I was very happy to have an e-reader.All physical book readers look performative and stupid when I walk up in the cafe and pull out my actual reading device
Not novels or serious theory, unless I have a long trip or am going somewhere to read but it's inconvenient to bring physical copies. Day to day I really like to read biographies, cultural criticism and history, which are great on the phone for entertaining me in short bursts. I don't really get why you wouldn't use any available device to read, desu
>>25381139Man, do you guys ever shut the fuck up with this? And do you even know what performative means because how is anyone going to think you're reading and not just scrolling the gram? Fucking retards.
>>25381180i don’t really get how people still don’t know about the word filters on this site.
>>25381182>Performative complaining.
>>25381139These was a "No Kings" Humble ebook bundle a few months ago. It made me laugh thinking about performative readers paying $18 to display the covers on their idle Kindles at Starbucks.
>>25381182
Never though about this but reading could be a reason to get a fold phone
>>25381136I thought that having a foldable kindle you can open like a book would be cool, but then someone mentioned that it's just a waste of tech and energy, because you only read one page at a time, anyway.
>>25381136No, but I've started reading on my Loonix laptop (name of this ebook reader is Foliate, it's pretty neat)
>>25381701What would really be cool is China making a cheaper alternative to KindleNo way this tech is actually expensive.
>>25381136i got books on my glock
>>25381139???>performative Faggot
>>25381182Its just some dumb tranny theory. Blame Judith Butler.
>>25381861Not a cool as the glong.
>>25381560It looks cute in the pic but it's still tiny as shit in landscape.
>>25381853>What would really be cool is China making a cheaper alternative to KindleIt's been done.
>>25381161*for anyone under 25
>>25381991How is it performative for anyone over 25, pray tell?
>>25381993>pray tellperformative
>>25381996
>>25381985No it hasn't, only one Taiwanese company makes e-ink stuff. That's the main reason the cost goes up.
>>25382019>China>TaiwanTomayto, tomahto.Anyway. People love Boox and it's a chinese company.
>>25381136All my e books are on my phone
>>25382023>booxthis shit is literally more expensive than a Kindle
>>25381996How can one be performative and anonymous? The two are opposite positions
>>25381136Yes. The Stranglers: The Cult of Thuggee & Its Overthrow in British India by George Bruce. If I ever find a physical copy, I buy it in a heartbeat.
>>25381136yeah would use koreader since I could sync it to my desktop and actual e-reader, but have since moved over to readest on mobile and desktop.
>>25381136Only one currently, Anabasis
Sort of related, does anyone have an xteink reader? How do you like it? I've a kobo clara bw at the moment and was thinking of getting one along with a folding case for it and my phone.
>>25381136I like to have some light reading on my phone to kill time when I would be otherwise doomscrolling. I have the app configured for infinite scroll.Currently reading the second Ciaphas Cain omnibus this way.
>>25381861You can also display your incel manifesto on it for when they find your dead body after your mass shooting.
>>25383701>reading slop for childrenyou are doomscrolling
>>25381182How old do you have to be to call insta "the gram"?
No, because I'm not a satanist.
>>25381163Nothing wrong at all with reading books like that for learning languages. I'd rather do that than read English garbage.
>>25381136I read at home because I'm not a performative faggot or a 3rd worlder who uses public transportation. I drive to my destination. Do what I have to do and leave.
>>25381136Let's see... 364 total as of right now.
>>25386667>I'm not a performative faggot or a 3rd worlder who uses public transportation. I drive to my destination. Do what I have to do and leave.and then post about your readings on /lit/
What the fuck is this butthurt trannies' problem?
>>25381861Pulling the trigger should turn the pages.
>>25381136I exclusively read on my phone. My eyesight is fucked, but I don't want to give the capitalist machine any more money.
>>25386971>He doesn't use the built-in eye comfort shield setting
