>Cease to brag to me of America, and its model institutions and constitutions...men that sit idly caucusing and ballot-boxing on the graves of their heroic ancestors saying 'it is well, it is well!'
> New Spiritual Pythons, plenty of them...as ugly as were ever born of mud, loom huge and hideous out of the twilight Future on America; and she will have her own agony, and her own victory, but on other terms than she is yet quite aware of.
>What have [Americans] done?...They have begotten, with a rapidity beyond recorded example, Eighteen Millions of the greatest bores ever seen in this world before—that hitherto is their feat in History!"

Was he right?

Yes and no.

Yes. America destroyed its own potential less than a lifetime after its founding. As a society it has never accomplished anything great and has served only to make the world worse. Although some individual americans have accomplished great things in scholarship, science, and the arts. Its religiosity is the most abjectly degenerate in history since the judaism of ancient israel that it takes inspiration from.

This is so funny given the last 50 years.

Religiosity can be great. American religion is the Walmart of religion though. It’s cheap lazy and does the job but it’s really embarsssing to witness

i don't think this has anything to do with america specifically. i think this is just the disease of the moderns.

If I were a European I'd be very careful about hating America since almost none of them have the strength to do so without turning mad. It's kind of like how in the 19th century some Asiatics were normal and hated Westerners in a regular way -- viewing them as no more than upstart barbarians -- but by the 20th century they had all just accepted the West's Marxism and could only view anti-white racial grievances through that lens. Similarly, if you hate America as a non-American today, you've basically got a 99% chance of turning into a rabid communist.

Regardless, even the older criticisms I read from Europeans bore me to tears; there's no bite there. Trying to critique America for its civic religion is like critiquing the Russians for Bolshevism -- it just doesn't make sense because neither is an organic outgrowth of that people, but a distortion that could only occur in the mongrelized modern world. The only real fight waged against the excesses of the shop-keeping Yankees came from the people of the Southern States, and that was a cause Europeans helped to crush by sending their racial trash to America. So to hell with them both; the shell that was America and the museum that was Europe are both in a symbiotic and mutually abusive relationship, both have not earned the right to exist at all yet.

Marxism is not American it is European(or of you want to be a hater, jewish). Don't try to sneak in an elevation of America by putting it in the same category as Europe as a response to European dismissal of American thought. That only strengthens the European criticism.

Americans try to adopt the concept of "the West" in order to free ride some prestige and heritage. Similar to the Chilean army dressing up like Prussian soldiers. The prestige belongs to the Prussians not the Chileans.

Yet where is Prussia now?
