I feel a prevalent occurrence that I'm seeing in male /lit/erature circles is readers seeking motivation/inspiration in fictional stories or a novel philosophy weaved into the narrative for the reader to readily adopt. It feels like /lit/ try-hards don't actually like fictional story-telling if it doesn't somehow relate to their own reality. What are the good literary books out there that merit its existence without the pretentious agenda of philosophy or self-help?
