Honestly, I've come to the conclusion that it is men who are the empathetic gender. While can sympathize with others, they seem totally incompetent or downright incapable of empathizing with at least men: On the other hand, men can empathize with women (even if not much, then at least more than vice versa), because how could they not? Throughout history it is men who have had to pursue and seduce women, which would be nigh impossible if you had zero idea what the other person is thinking.
