When will /lit/ be visiting Dua Lipa's banned books shop?
>>
You all should. You might actually meet a foid to fill your love life.
>>

Does this mean Dua Lipa is a chud? Since censorship and anti-free speech is mostly a woke leftist thing.

Something about turning and the tables and whatnot

>the library has a section on "power" which examines who holds influence, who challenges it and who gets to define the narratives we inherit. The section includes The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir, Felon by Reginald Dwayne Betts, Free by Lea Ypi, Omar El Akkad's One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This, and Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell.
call me when you have something of substance to say about your zionist overlords.

I can’t help but notice how they had to put ‘banned books’ in quotations. I’m guessing that’s because the library is in the USA where there are no banned books and hence no risk in doing this.

It's in Portugal.

Unless you're counting stuff like csam being illegal as banned books basically no in the western world. Lots of works are out of print and practically impossible to get a hold of but there's nothing actually "banning" them.

banning books is the dumbest third world fascist way to deal with Obscurantism,You would expect some islamic third world country to do this.
REAL OG fascist deal with censorship through controlling every public and private publishing industry and descrediting any information by calling it fascist ,nazi or anti sementic.

Heeeeyyyy... wait a minute... That's like the publishing industry now!
>>
>>25403088
No. Even if you ban them, they just get circulated anyway through samidzat
>>
>>25401863
Basically the right kind of ‘banned books’ only…..

We should really do a actual banned book thread.
>>
>>25403230
Guess Reddit needs a /r/bannedbooksfrombannedbooks...

This is bullshit by the way. If you ask the AI if portugal allows books full of pictures of child abuse it says no.

I don't like child abuse, I just think it's bullshit that it's never considered "censored material"
>>
>>25403088
Yes and as an example The Turner Diaries is illegal in a lot of countries. Modern book banning is mostly done through deamplificaiton and/or refusal to stock though. Also, a general campaign is aimed at disincentivizing wrongthink while promoting the idea that reading The Handmaid's Tale, which was able to be turned into a film as well as a heavily pushed television series, not to mention the sequel and it's miniseries as well, is somehow an act of rebellion, lol.

The phrase “banned books” is shorthand for “books banned for political reasons” not “books banned for common sense reasons”
>>
>>25404243
>>25404308
A "book" is also usually shorthand for literature, not a book of photos.

Some things would be banned from publication like a book of classified CIA info or a book that doxxes. I'm not sure if they would be banned from circulation once already published, though.
