Every time I go to one of these meetups I never even poke my head in. I'm always just a table away with my head buried in one of the Big Lit 3. I'm always hoping one of you guys will say hi, or ask me what I'm reading, or what my favorite chapter of Ulysses is.But now it's been a few times and no one has said anything to me. I'm beginning to get a little disillusioned. Do they even know that I'm reading one of the meme trilogy? It's like I'm not even there and the craziest part of all this is I'm a really hot girl. If you live in NYC wouldn't it be easy to find a book club or someone to talk about books with that aren't channers?

I tried to go to an /o/ meetup years ago. Spent hours driving out to the first meeting spot, even brought a big tub of homemade cookies with very little human semen in them. Didn't find anyone. Asked the thread where everyone was with no response. Waited a while I went to the second meeting spot, waited more and never found anyone. Drove hours home. Later that night someone posts in the thread "yeah just a couple guys showed up at first so we decided to all go home and forget about it."Also tried to organize a /k/ meetup in my home state once. Everyone who responded to me was either underage, had a psych record and wasn't sure they could be around guns, or liked the idea of going but their social anxiety kept them from leaving their house.
