This is the conundrum of smart people trying to write dumb characters. The result is always a smart person pretending to be dumb, and that smartness can't help but leak through. True stupidity is incomprehensible to all but itself, which is where the term "thick-headed" originates; true stupidity is too dense for intelligence to penetrate.

There’s nothing worse than telling the absolute truth about your life and having everyone roll their eyes. Yes, we met in the sewers. No, it’s not a joke, and no, I’m not doing a bit. It was funny the first few times, but at this point, the constant disbelief is just insulting. People look at us like we’re pathological liars trying to be "quirky." It’s exhausting. Honestly, we’ve completely given up and just tell people we met on an app now, because we don’t have the energy to argue with people about our own lives.

Our inner core is sore. An aroma is sour in an area, neon runs, over-sources, ruins armor. One remains on a seat, can sense an ozonous excess, can concur standard air can pass. Soon we re-earn more ruin, serious mass error on our canvas. We run on narrow avenues, serious, cross, unsure. An inner core cannot reverse an ooze across an air wave. One is nervous cornered in standard snow or a season.

so I was at the gas station yesterday and I got a soda and the ice machine was broken so I had to get it without ice and that's fine whatever but then I got in my car and I coulden't find my keys for like five minutes and I was standing there like an idiot patting my pockets and they was in my hand the whole time and I swear I checked my hand like three times before I realized and then I drove home and I saw a guy walking his dog but the dog was wearing a little coat and it wasn't even cold out and I thought that's weird why put a coat on a dog when its not cold like is the dog cold maybe the dog gets cold easily I don't know and then I got home and I opened the fridge and there was nothing in there I wanted to eat so I closed it and opened it again like that would change something and it didnt and I did that three more times and I still have no idea what I'm going to eat for dinner and now I'm sitting here typing this and I forgot what I was even talking about but I think it was the gas station and the keys and the dog with the coat and I still dont know why that dog needed a coat and I honestly dont even care but I'm still thinking about it and my soda is flat now because I left it open and I'm just gonna drink it anyway because I dont want to waste it but it tastes bad and I'm still thirsty and this is my life now I guess just flat soda and dogs in coats and keys that was in my hand the whole time and I dont know why I'm even typing this its not like anyone cares about my keys or my soda or the dog with the coat and I'm just gonna post this anyway and then maybe go to bed and forget I ever wrote any of it and tomorrow I'll wake up and probably buy another soda and forget my keys again and see another dog in a coat and I'll just keep doing this forever and ever and I honestly dont even know what I'm saying anymore I'm just typing words and its not even making sense to me and I just want to stop but I cant because my brain keeps going and going and I think about the dog and the coat and the keys and the soda and I just want it all to stop but it wont and now my fingers are just moving and I'm not even reading what I'm writing I'm just typing and typing and I'm gonna hit post now and regret everything.

Ran into a distant acquaintance at the park and had a lovely conversation. She took out her phone to google something but I saw her reddit username before she switched apps. Later I looked her up on one of those reddit archives and saw that her first post was a topless selfie in a porn subreddit, but it was automatically removed because she posted it from a brand new account, so I could only see the subreddit and the post title. Other archives don't have it. Disappointing. But we soldier onward

My neighbor has this weird thing where he only mows his lawn at 6 AM on Sundays and he always wears the same red hat and I found one of his teeth in my driveway last week and I don't know how it got there but I threw it in the trash and I still think about it sometimes like did he lose it while mowing did it fall out of his mouth and he didn't notice and also the red hat is covered in grass stains and he never washes it and I want to ask him about the tooth but I never will because that would be weird and now every time I hear his lawnmower I think about that tooth sitting in my trash can with all the coffee grounds and banana peels and I wonder if he's missing it or if he even noticed it was gone.

I’ve just sat through Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie and my blood is absolutely boiling, I am completely fuming. Right at the bloody start, these two total cowboys decide the best way to promote their band is to sneak onto the actual EdgeWalk at the top of the CN Tower with parachutes and a pair of bloody wire cutters, like absolute lunatics. It’s not even CGI or green screen, these two proper muppets actually snuck past real security to do a rogue base jump off a national landmark! I’m sweating buckets just watching it because they genuinely start snipping their own safety cables while a terrified tour guide is shouting at them, and for what? They end up jumping and smacking straight onto the roof of the stadium below because the bloody dome was closed, which is just peak stupidity. My nerves are completely shot, I’m shaking with rage, and I need a proper pint immediately because that was the most stressful, unhinged bit of footage I’ve ever seen in my life.

I see my work as essentially bridging late period Annales historians focus on the mentality of a people, but rather than focus on the common people, i focus on the intellectuals and question the motivations of their ideas, for example i such as question the "is-ought" gap for a figure like Hume and instead of trying to understand the Enlightenment in his wake I attempt to understand why he believed there was no connection between correlation and causation and the consequences of society as his ideas became the defacto mentality of educated people. Am I being dishonest here or is this a new way of looking at intellectual history?

I'm 26 years old and supposed to be preparing paperwork to go back to university for the 4th time. I still don't really know what for. Now I'm saying Data Science, I think. I forget my reasoning. Math, data. I'm looking forward to everything except the actual studying.

My passions are to be cool, look good, be /fit/, have some friends, have sex, do grand gestures like stage acting or vandalism. Maybe I'll speak on the radio. I was almost born in a few different countries. I don't know if I have what it takes to actually study and graduate and have a real-life boring ass job with responsibilities. I don't know what people want from me. All I think I can get out of a career is renumeration so I just want to get paid the most for the least amount of work and I don't know what people from me. I don't know how people manage anything, I have no executive functioning anymore. I'm probably normal, and just a product of the times. But it doesn't look very good right now.

>read Dan Brown’s Origin
>450 pages of slow writing, takes over 100 pages for the plot to get a move on
>almost nothing happens, the characters have two major locations
>assassin that’s after them dies unceremoniously 100 pages before the ending
>almost 50 pages dedicated to Edmond Kirsch’s TED talk that apparently 200 million people are watching live for some reason
>he’s effectively an unironic oh-my-science redditor atheist and just gloats that technology and transhumanism will create a universal science-religion(???) and shills his AI models
>guessed the big twist about halfway through the book (Kirsch set up his own assassination)
>oh and the King of Spain was gay
>and his son borderline bleeding-heart antinatalist with the character development of a packing peanut
I can see why this flew under the radar in 2017. Might be his worst book honestly. Secret of Secrets was okay, bit too scifi, but still readable. This was just 450 pages of almost nothing, even though it’s the same length as Da Vinci code and Angels and Demons

Me and my buddy got into a ten on two fight and actually won once. The only two witnesses we know who can back us up are our two girlfriends from back when it actually happened, and they’re both long gone. its interesting how this finger came to represent "fuck x". By extension are we meant to imagine the finger as a penile symbol?
>>
>>25407620
Because I hate loose ends, I followed this train of thought and discovered the origin of the finger
>In Greek, the gesture was known as the katápygon[8][9] (κατάπυγον, from kata – κατά, "downwards"[10] and pugē – πυγή, "rump, buttocks"[11]). In ancient Greek comedy, the finger was a gesture of insult toward another person, with the term katapugon also referring to "a male who submits to anal penetration"[12] or katapygaina to a female.[13] In Aristophanes's comedy The Clouds (423 BC),[14] when the character Socrates is quizzing his student on poetic meters, Strepsiades declares that he knows quite well what a dactyl is, and gives the finger. The gesture is a visual pun on the two meanings of the Greek word daktylos, both "finger" and the rhythmic measure composed of a long syllable and two short, like the joints of a finger (— ‿ ‿, which also appears as a visual pun on the penis and testicles in a medieval Latin text[15])."
huh the more you know

>>25407627
it really all starts with the greeks.
Fun fact I am socially retarded and I have a fear of making hand gestures because I might flip someone the finger instead of doing the intended gesture (metal horns or thumbs up). I worry about accidentally flipping the bird so I have to consciously think about not flipping the bird but it usually takes so long to make sure the momentum is gone by the time I do the correct gssture.
I do this retaded shit all the time and I hate myself
>>
>>25407642
I do the same thing except with my eyebrows. I'll try to raise one eyebrow to look cool or skeptical or whatever and instead I just end up looking like I'm having a stroke and the person I'm talking to gets all concerned and asks if I'm okay and I have to explain that no I'm fine I was just trying to do a thing and now I look like an idiot and then I just avoid eye contact for the rest of the conversation and pretend to be really interested in the floor.
>>
>>25407642
>>25407650
When walking too closely to anyone who is not an adult man, I will place my hand palm-out behind my back so as to completely eliminate any risk of misinterprable brushing or bumping (plus clumsy kids will just into the pen you're holding and be stabbed in the face)
>>
>>25407665
will just trip* into the pen you're holding
>>
>>25407650
I am sure I flipped the bird to a guy in a shirt of my favorite band shirt on the metro. I made a face like "yeah bro" and the metal horns but the guy's face was a mix of concerned and offended and it was already too late to check what I did so I got paranoid for the rest of my life that I'd finally made the wrong gesture after being so paaranoid about it for a long time.
Actually this is one of the most soul crushing things about my existence, I worry endlessly about something happening and then it happens. I am such a fucking retard holy shit.
I often imagine God watching me from above with a his hand on a lever that makes awful shit happen to me, looking all giddy waiting for the best moment to pull the fuck my shit up lever.
It's like my destiny is already written so I hate being alive

try to approach work as something you can take a break from occasionally for months or a year rather than trying to race to retire permanently as soon as possible. you’re going to take dumb risks otherwise and blow your load
also ask yourself honestly if you’ve learned a good work ethic. You’ll still need to be productive and focused even when you’re not employed. Not much point in retiring early if your only aspirations are reading or playing video games or something

Most people, especially young people these days, want a modest life where they have the essentials and a small bit of freedom to go on vacation, enjoy hobbies, etc. but they’re not even afforded the opportunities to do that. It’s either grind it out and work like a dog or live with relatives / roommates forever. “Don’t worry about money lol, stop and smell the roses” is a meaningless platitude to someone in their 20s wondering how they’ll cover rent this month.

AI and robotics have the chance to make most work unnecessary, if and only if ownership of the means of production is socialized. Basically, most productive things that need a human to do will eventually be doable by a machine. So we will eventually have an economy where productivity is high, but actual human labor is minimal or absent. This can go one of two ways. If the mechanized means of production continue to be privately owned, then all this productivity will go to the small number of people that own AI companies, and the rest of humanity, who can no longer competitively sell their labor, are left to starve. However, if the means of production are seized and redistributed to being held by the common man, what they output will be freely distributed, and we can truly have a utopia where no one has to work and everyone is freely provided for by the machines that are owned in common by all. The machines produce output without labor, therefore the question becomes whether that output belongs to the few or the many. So whether we all starve or whether we have a post-work utopia entirely depends on if the people are able to seize the initiative and socialize the machines replacing their labor.

I envied Caesar and his slaves, and so I simulated them. In my simulations I am more depraved than de Sade and more magnanimous than Cyrus. I have a bigger cock than Henry Miller and I can fuck better too I'm sure... because Miller was a Jew by proxy, which is why he could tolerate all of the neurotics, and the French. No war dodger can lay it down like a man with blood on his hands... I thought women would liberate me of my self-consciousness but nothings changed except now I have a busted lip. well that’s where living within your means comes from
I’m well familiar with the situation many have. Many splurge on tiny luxuries like doordash. Many thinks a vacation has to be to another country rather than another state. You can strawman an uber poor person if you want, which of course do exist, but the average person could be doing a lot better by themselves. Not to the sum “oh i can buy a house now” - there are real structural issues to society - but they could have a situation that’s meaningfully better if they meaningfully prioritized their spending to their supposed values and goals in life

There's this clever, gorgeous girl who lives along the neighborhood streets I walk to get home from the bus. Clever because she's figured out my schedule, so she manages to place herself outside virtually every time I walk by so we can exchange glances or, in times when I pretend to not notice her, she can stare at me. In addition to her stunning face, she has the longest legs I have ever seen on a person of my height. She could be a model in the future. This could be an opportunity.

The one drawback: she's still of the age where she rides a scooter and bike aroundO_Odon't worry I won't actually do anything but it's an interesting situation

>Ancient Philosophy: I don't care because my culture dominated yours, now get in the arena slave.
>Medieval Philosophy: I don't care because my religion dominated yours, now get on the chopping block heretic.
>Modern Philosophy: If you are mean to people they become terrorists so the best way to fix this is to make everyone as miserable as possible for ungrateful third worlders who do nothing but commit crime because if they were caught doing what they were doing in their home country they would have been burnt alive as punishment.

>I dont consider living in huts and sandcastles sufficient enough to qualify as being "cultured" sadly
Look dude, if you haven't noticed yet, most of the world spanning empires that got shit done had weak cultures or cultures where they just pragmatically assimilated everything it liked into it to become a mishmash. I've yet to see one culture-rich society succeed at the level that pragmatic societies have.

Yes the Roman's had a very weak culture which is why it ended up Hellenized once it stopped expanding and then why Christianity spread like wildfire after that.

You know that the Assyrian culture wasn't unique to the Assyrians right? It was all Hellanized by Alexander the Great all they did was poor reproductions of Greek works of Art to the point that the Roman Diplomat that originally met with the Assyrian Diplomat openly mocked him to his face about it.

Frankly they're stealing our Orgones and the inner child is the only function by which we truly operate except in an industrial setting. Sometimes we are exhausted by this vampirism, but also it is natural we have daily peaks and moments of existential rest. However, they do like to steal our Orgones in the morning, schedule a man to work early and he'll be left daydreaming what would otherwise be public genius (I personally journal on my phone to recapture these morning thoughts). >Orgones
Was unfamiliar with this concept. Wilheim Reich sounded familiar so I looked in my notes. He is a degenerate jewish commie...
This is why mingling with you rejects wrecks havoc on my mental state. You and the filth youre propagating disgust me beyond belief. Well thats me done for today
> Wilhelm Reich joined in the campaign to convince the Western world that untrammeled sexuality was the secret of happiness and that sexual repression, along with the bourgeois family life that had once contained and channeled sexuality, were nothing more than engines of pathology.
>With the messianic glow of a man who had discovered the one truth which is the secret of the universe, Reich started to travel around Vienna from one workers’ meeting to another giving lectures not on class conflict but on orgasm. Good orgasm was the basis of psychic and physical well being; the role
of government, therefore, should be to insure good orgasm by providing the litany of improvements the neo-Reichians have made a familiar part of our world and government policy by now: sex education, contraception and abortion.
>By talking dirty, Reich found that he could hold the attention of even the most distracted crowd. It was a lesson the Americans would learn at around the same time from Freud’s nephew Edwin Bemays, when that worthy took what he learned by cranking out propaganda during World War I and applied it
to the nascent science of advertising. During the spring and summer of 1928 and 1929, Reich took his sex act on the road. The sex-pol team would arrive in a van at some prearranged site, usually at a public park, where they would talk to local workers’ groups not about class conflict or the more
theoretical aspects of psychoanalysis but rather “the concrete problems of people’s sex lives.”7 Reich would talk with the adolescents and men, and Lia Lasky, Reich’s lover at the time, would talk to the children, and a gynecologist would talk to the women and eitherprescribe contraceptive devices or fit
the women with them on the spot. Reich had taken his own sexual compulsions and had turned them into a powerful new way to organize the masses. Reich had discovered that one way of mobilizing people was by mobilizing their passions.

Look brother I was using a little magical language to explain sometimes you're more creative in the morning and that people experience phases of creativity and grogginess throughout the day through the consequences of some physical function. degeneracy is mandatory to reality escape. you do not have to leave behind your humanity or fantastic capability for agency. we must be prepared to give up what they have told us these words mean, they only told us these worlds could only mean the worst they can tell us, because they knew how dangerous using them right would be. The Numidian was certainly a skilled horseman, and the Balearic Islander an unparalleled slinger; the Spaniards provided infantry that defied comparison, while the Syrians—still buoyed by the legacy of Alexander—supplied recruits whose reputations were as great as they were deserved. Yet all these merits paled beside those of the Gauls. Their rivals for glory—swarthy and short, or at least of average stature—could not match the martial bearing of the towering Treveran or Boian, who was better suited than anyone to carry with ease, upon broad shoulders, the immense weight that standard discipline imposed on the legionary. It was therefore with good reason that the State sought to increase recruitment in Gaule, and especially in Germanized Gaule. Under the Twelve Caesars, even while political power remained concentrated among the southern populations, it was already the North that bore the primary responsibility for maintaining the peace of the empire by force of arms.

I've been reading Jewish mysticism texts and they are quite interesting. Synthesizing it with my background in some other spirituality and continental philosophy, and as a psychonaut explorer transcending into the metaphysical beyond what is immediately accesible, I am starting to see things in a way beyond the Western lens of success. Reality is not a fixed, objective grid of dead matter but rather it is a vibratory, kaleidoscopic projection of infinite consciousness playing an elaborate game of hide-and-seek with itself. When we gaze into the deepest insights of mystical Kabbalah, psychoanalysis, critical theory, and Eastern non-dualism, I am seeing in a way they are all drawing different maps of the exact same cosmic territory. They all point toward a grand, unified narrative: the primordial unity of Being intentionally fractures itself into a multitude of forms, gets lost in the hallucinatory maze of its own creation, and must undergo a radical process of awakening and integration to return to wholeness.

How, then, do we break out of the spectacle and heal the cosmic fracture? The answer is not an escapist flight into a detached, transcendent nirvana, nor is it the annihilation of the ego. The path of liberation is Tikkun Olam, the Jewish principle of the active, conscious repair and restoration of the world. We must descend into the husks to gather the trapped sparks of light. Jung called this the process of individuation, a psychological descent into the underworld to confront the Shadow, integrate the archetypes of the collective unconscious, and forge a union of opposites to realize the true Self. Nietzsche understood this as the ultimate act of self-overcoming: the Ubermensch who rejects the passive nihilism of denying life, embraces the chaotic, Dionysian forces of existence, and joyfully affirms reality as it is to create their own noble values. Buddhism offers the alchemy of emptiness and dependent origination, teaching us that because all phenomena are empty of fixed essence and radically interconnected, we can release our clinging and awaken to a state of non-dual compassion and flow. Ultimately, these maps demand a synthesis of inner mysticism and outer structural critique. To meditate without dismantling the material forces of oppression is to become a comfortable mystic blessing a destructive machine; to engage in political revolution without integrating one's own unconscious shadow is to merely recreate the old cruelties under a new ideological banner. We must recognize the structures of language, capital, and ideology that shape us, yet remain anchored in the profound awareness that we are the Infinite universe experiencing itself. From Spinoza, we are all one with God. We are called to be the localized apertures of a divine cosmos, participating consciously in the grand, dialectical dance of shattering and repair

Well if it’s a mystifying kaleidoscope isn’t it most natural to return to the source by simply knowing it all comes from the same light? Should be plenty for a biological organism unless you want to be purely photological
Good research by the way

My mother bought me a different brand of cheap instant coffee than usual and I swear this shit is secretly decaf. I'm drinking two-to-even-three times as much, and I'm not sure I feel anything.

In fact, I just took a look at the label, and nothing on it mentions the word 'caffeine' whatsoever! wtffff scammers

You have an imperative responsibility to report them to the BBB.
>>
>>25410022
But that's the rub, while they use the word coffee, they don't use the word caffeine, so it's technically not false advertising I suppose. I mean it tastes like coffee! It doesn't say decaf either though. I don't think I ever had decaf before this.

Turns out after some personal research that both cofee and caffience derive from french 'cafe' derived from some arab word root

So you would think the word coffee implies caffeine. There probably is, just an imperceptible amount if you have a previous and ongoing caffeine addiction, like myself and most people in the Western world.

I took it to mean that the word segment ‘cafe’ no longer indicates ‘caffeine’ and so one should check before expecting caffeine or not

I bought decaf once by accident and didn't notice for two weeks. I was just sitting there feeling fine and I thought wow I'm really handling my stress well these days. Then I saw the bag and realized I'd been drinking fake coffee and all that peace was just a placebo. So now I chase my regular coffee with a decaf and try to trick my brain into thinking the second one matters but it never works. I just end up drinking both and feeling nothing. It's like a magic trick where the only person getting fooled is me.

lol

Funny you mention that because I'm gonna go to the store and buy the usual brand I get, but still keep this crappy one as like a second or third cup to have when I want the flavor of coffee but feel like I've had too much caffeine.

And for me the way I noticed is 1) I found I couldn't drink too much of the stuff, whereas with regular coffee, I can tell when my body is telling me "yeah anymore caffeine, we're gonna get uncomfortable", especially as I hate being too stimulated with my heart-pounding, and 2) I noticed I have this constant feeling of a craving in my brain that just won't go away, but I couldn't figure out what it was for. It's like the same feeling of wanting a cigarette but undirected.
