Kadokawa is looking for Gaijin-made LNs to publish in Japan

The Prompts are
Epic Heroine or Tragic Hero

Deadline is September

Prize is $5000
>>
>fantasy
>epic heroine

shant scribble slop
>>
>>25409945
>exclusivity clause to Honeyfeed
Yeah, no. I'm not dooming my story to a platform no one uses.
>>
>>25410005
If you lose (which you will, as most of these are rigged) you can just repost it elsewhere
>>
>>25409945
So they will just MTL my novel for nipponese’s consumption? Oh how the turntables.
>>
>>25410086
Are you sure? Never underestimate the greediness of kikes. Hollywood jews will sit on a story they have no intention of making into a movie, just to stop another studio from potentially profiting off it.
>most of these are rigged
Yeah. The fact that the grand prize says (no grand prize will be awarded if we feel no submission deserves it) tells me their true motive is to just get one million downloads in the app store.
>>
>>25410108
>they have stolen from us for too long
>now we shall steal from them!
Little do they know nobody in the west who would submit to this contest can actually write
>>
>>25409999
>Kadokawa
or tragic hero
>>
>>25410129
Honestly, who cares? Just screw them back and repost it elsewhere

>Hollywood jews will sit on a story they have no intention of making into a movie, just to stop another studio from potentially profiting off it.
They can only do that if they bought the IP
You cannot copyright an idea
>>
>>25410129
Yes and no. They usually buy the rights for x period of time. Usually a set number of years. That is still enough to kill an adaptation from ever happening, but eventually if they don't use the story within the allotted time the rights return to the author.
>>
I thought I had a decent old draft to repurpose for this contest, but after thinking it over, my story's more fit for the "tragic hero" category, which expects a male protagonist and I have a feMC. The "epic heroine" category expects some "endearing flaw" and though my MC isn't exactly perfect, I can't come up with the kind of comical meme quirk they're looking for.

I don't think I can wrap this story up in any satisfying way by the deadline in September either. Writing an 80k-word novel in the 2.5 month contest period is way more work than $5k is worth, which I'm not going to win anyway.
>>
>>25409945
I wish I could write up a decent novel in 2 months but it took me 6 months to write a 15 page story that was so awful only a single person was able to read the whole thing.
I still got a few years of practice and skill grinding before I think I might be good enough to enter a contest of any kind related to writing.
>>
You guys are overthinking this. It's a light novel. You could win by barely putting any effort at all. Just make sure that the story will suck readers in and that there's potential for twenty more volumes.

It is kind of funny that your choices of protagonist are Girl Boss or Abuse Goblin
>>
>>25409945
Okay, but first you have to explain wtf a light novel is
>>
>>25411066
Young Adult Fiction with the occasional illustration added. No clue if you actually need illustrations for the contest.
>>
>>25411066
lurk 10,000,000 years before posting, tourist
>>
>>25411066
light entertainment but novel
>>
>>25411066
anime YA
>>
>>25411066
Basically just dialogue with the barebones prose
May as well just call it "script" but they want the novelty of being associated with actual novels
>>
Is this a yearly thing or are they only doing it once?

Also do they have any way of preventing the contest from being drowned in AI spam?
Because if they don't have some method of avoiding AI bros the contest will get spammed to the point that they won't actually be able to read even the first page of entries, thus making it utterly pointless to enter.
>>
>>25411719
Honeyfeed does it every 3 months
Kadokawa does it 2 years in a row now
Check out MAL news
>>
>>25410690
Tragically, no
You cannot woe children with healthy and hearty meals.
These are toddlers and manbabies whose entire pallet are junk
>>
>>25411829
I noticed you said nothing about ai, so I am assuming they are indeed spammed with ai shit by scammers.
>>
Link?
>>
>>25412019
Rule says no AI and passing it anyway gets you banned
Not sure how they can filter it, though
>>
>>25411066
It's how the Japanese call their YA shit.
>>
Not worth it. Might as well add 30+ chapters to my Patreon/RR backlog.
>>
>>25412212
Just treat it like a writting exercise
You will not win, but that doesn't mean that you will lose
>>
I want to give this a try but I'd like to read an example of a good light novel in this genre before, just to get an idea for how the writing is. Can anyone here recommend what would be considered the best fantasy light novels? From what I saw in the rules it didn't mention isekai but I'd rather have a normal fantasy type story if possible.
>>
>>25413695
Tanya is as close as you can get to an actual good LN as it was written by a certified historian who read actual novels

Iirc, Spice and Wolf is good too as it was written by a physicist
>>
>>25413715
Thank you I'll check them out. I've heard less than favorable things about many of these so I wanted to make sure to reference the better ones so I know what to look for.

>The Prompts are

how nice of them to give me the prompt to copy paste into my AIslop generator!
