Did Ayn Rand have any reason not to use an infinite pleasure mean? How could it be against your rational self-interest to use one, provided you had the money for it?

since she was pro smoking, I don't think she had a problem with pleasure devices

I haven't read that hideous bitch, but I assume that her characters being magnates and moguls of industry illustrates the point that your self-interest is legitimate only in regards to its ramifications in the wider world.
You should selfishly enjoy owning a bridge building company because you can amass welath and influence, and there's also people that need bridges building.
No one needs a zombie plugged into the goon matrix.
I think Stirner might agree with the goon spook machine, because why not?
But I think Ayn Rand would find it repulsive.

Are there any books about how OP's picture is what we should do with retards, cripples and others who can't financially contribute to society?

I doubt the machine will live up to your imagination. Probably better off not advocating that you and yours meet that fate.

Why don't you go read one of her many many many essays on the subject if you actually give a shit (I don't think you do though and just want to rile up the anti-randians).
>>
If I saw this machine IRL I would smash it to pieces like the tool of Satan it is.
>>

I've read both of the major novels, but haven't gotten into enough of her essays, it's true. But I do listen to a lot of Randian tubers, and I don't remember this topic coming up too often. I think one guy said that the scenario is too ridiculous to take seriously, and left it at that. The last time I asked someone a question of this kind, they implied that I wasn't being sincere, and used that as an excuse not to answer the question.
>>
>>25412662
It’s because they know what the answer would be and how soulless and callow her “philosophy” really is.

We're building whether we want to like a caterpillar builds a cocoon.

No need to be hostile.

Looks like the combine stalker in HL2

(The combine is basically a metaphor for "the rocket" in gravity's rainbow)
>>
>>25411825
You must be an atheist. Your lack of empathy is showing.
>>
It being depicted as necessarily related to sexual or material pleasures detracts from the thought experiment.
>>
>>25410720
Because if the goal of human life is to be happy, the "pleasure machine" won't achieve it. Being happy is about being fulfilled which you can only have through personal lived experience. Feeling euphoric or joyful doesn't equal being happy.

also I'm not an objectivist

I'd pull that limbless dork out of it and jack in immediately
>>

...go on...

Because her definition of happiness is closer to the Eudamonia of Aristotle.

No. I still have to go out and obtain my meth manually.

Nozick talks about this.
