what am I in for?
I listened to the audiobook and it was a decent fugue, not sure I'll ever rearead it
>>25411214you never read it in the first place
>>25411220I might not have liked it as much if I read it on the page
>>25411190Thielslop for simps, with Ernest Cline-esqe crass spamming of superficial cultural references. But in this case the references are to Internet and especially image boardculture, so clueless critics miss that it was written by a tourist and call it Important and For The Digital Age or whatever crap. It'll make you sympathize more with people who complain about cultural appropriation.
Please go away, Honor. Your schtick is tiresome. Also, you stole your pen name from a dead lady. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/berkshire/name/honor-levy-obituary?id=45194329
Youl love it as a mouthbreather like me
>>25411190the first chapter - a meme-imbued extravagant internet novella - is great and very promising; sadly the rest moves away from that kind of fiction, and is more of a collection of autobiographical episodes and reflections. it ends up falling flat because she and her life are simply not that interesting.
The Perfume Nationalist book once it comes out is going to blow everything else from this cohort out of the water
Has Honor Levy gotten even fatter as predicted? Status report on the size of her already (as of ca. 2025) gigantic ass?
>>25411190decent book. not worth rereading. collection of short stories with varying ratings. I enjoyed some stories and wished they were fleshed out into standalone books while others seemed like filler. short sentences style with the a consistent theme of searching for meaning and a general frustration of youth and whimsy being, I would not say stolen, but forgotten... withheld?I have no other experience with zoomer writers and little with female writers, but I finished the book and wanted more from Levy after finishing.
