I am 26 and will go to college this fall for business administration. Should I go to the freshmen orientation week even at my age?
>>
I dunno
>>
>>25411223
no absolutely not.

it's not actually an orientation in the usual sense, it's just an icebreaker social event for kids who haven't lived away from home. it has nothing to do with college itself, just socialization.

you know how high schoolers look like little kids to you now? well the reverse is also true, you're very young but to them you will look like their parents. you'd be wildly out of place there.
>>
>>25411223
In my state they literally forced me to go to it before I could enroll in classes and most of it was just a shitty lecture on "erm rape is bad mkay" and other Title IX bullshit. I was 25 transferring from community college so it was doubly retarded.
>>
>>25411232
Solid advice
>>
>>25411223
You have something else to do?
Just go and make connections. Often they will explain useful things that aren't mentioned on the university online platform.
>>
>>25411223
Bang as many daddy's money whores as you can. You will never have a pussy buffet like this again in your life.
>>
>>25411458
The pussy fountain doesn't start until October, until then the froshes are scared of being labeled as sluts

and they won't react positively to someone pushing 30
>>
>>25411467
>and they won't react positively to someone pushing 30
You know nothing.
>>
>>25411472
I do. High school girls like guys in their mid-20s because it's dangerous and they feel wanted, but college resets their expectations and they're surrounded by a whole new crop of men their age that they want to play with
>>
>>25411247
>In my state they literally forced me to go to it before I could enroll in classes
I was forced to do this as well, I was 28 at the time.
>>
>>25411223
It's best to just not even acknowledge a soul unless they are in the same situation as you. If you are forced to interact with the younger freshmen, say in a group project or something, just find the smarter spergs that everyone else is giving a wide berth to. You'll look normal by comparison. If you find a smart, capable person that is also in your age bracket, make it an absolute priority to spend time with them. Remember that at this point any natural intelligence you have won't carry you through the more difficult work you have to do, after sophomore/junior year you can't really get by on your (likely) high fluid intelligence, in some majors that starts in Freshman year. Try and systematize thought/study, and work very hard. It will blow by incredibly fast and thoughts of socialization will be few and far between during the long winter months. Also start working out.

Yes, go, and take every similar opportunity for the rest of your time at college or you will regret it for the rest of your life. One day you'll be 35 swiping on dating apps and getting excited a single non-fat 24 year old matched with you because she's "into older guys." You have an opportunity to have unlimited licit uncontroversial access to 18-24 year old women for 4 years here. Do not fuck that up. If you're so uncomfortable, claim to be an MBA or grad student. These women are DYING for men in their late 20s and even early 30s.

Do not ever project what women want and then preemptively pass on opportunities because of it. You never know what women want. Tell your brain to shut the fuck up whenever it tries to say "ummm but those women won't like me anyway so what's the point." It's literally trying to ruin your life. Always take any shot that isn't overtly creepy or inappropriate and just see what happens.

SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT

OVERRIDE EVERY INSTINCT YOU HAVE WITH WHAT SOME FAGGOT ON 4CHAN IS TELLING YOU. YOUR INSTINCTS ARE RETARDED AND ARE TRYING TO MAKE YOU INTO A REGRETFUL SEXLESS FAGGOT ON YOUR DEATH BED

DO NOT AUTISTICALLY OVERTHINK YOURSELF OUT OF FOUR FREE YEARS OF LIMITLESS ACCESS TO COLLEGE WOMEN WHO ACTUALLY PREFER SLIGHTLY OLDER GUYS OR I WILL PERSONALLY FIND YOU AND FUCK YOU
>>
>>25411223
well do you want to make a load of friends really easily or do you want to sit on 4chins for your whole degree? tough choice really.
>>
>>25411232
this is not at all solid advice, just loner doomsaying. you absolutely should go. no you will absolutely not be out of place. and you absolutely absolutely shouldn't let loners like this try to isolate you.
>>
You should absolutely

When I was a teenager, all the hot girls dated only 30+ old dudes and called guys my age babies. Now that I'm over 30, guys my age are suddenly the most loathsome creatures in the world and nobody dates us

Lolwut? That’s retarded popscience.
>>
>>25412218
Fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence are well documented elements of general intelligence.

>>25412070
why do you glorify casual sex with sluts like it's some kind of a must have life experience without which you'll die alone?
>>
>>25412187
They were dating handsome and successful older guys.
>>
>>25411478
literally just talk to them like a normal person and pull out your credit card
>>
>>25412242
?
>>
>>25412252
It doesn’t even have to be casual sex. It’s also opportunities for women real relationships. However most men will and probably should try every part of the spectrum and see what brings them joy and also what gives them experiences they learn and grow from. I don’t regret the years I spent in shallow relationships with good and significant people who changed me, nor the serious relationships with good and significant people. In a real way I don’t even regret the dumb choices that led me to associate or stay with the shit people because those formed me too, and helped me figure out which people are good and worth associating with.
>>
>>25412354
you're lying to yourself that you met good and significant people through casual sex with sluts in college
>>
>>25411223
>/lit/ is for the discussion of literature, specifically books (fiction & non-fiction), short stories, poetry, creative writing, etc.

what is happening to this board
>>
>>25412252
its the most important thing if you don't have a lot of relationships with women you wont have the necessary experience to keep the good one around
and you'll cheat because you didn't your fill. but because you're not experienced you'll cheat in a stupid way that makes everything end badly for everyone.
>>
>>25412159
Tone deaf post
>>
>>25411223
Get a different degree, that one is useless.
>>
>>25411223
Yes. You may meet a cute horny 17 year old girl
