How do I, as a writer who's written little of what I've set out to accomplish, overcome the dopaminergic cycle in this age of endless distractions? Must one channel their inner ultra-autist and become a luddite in order to accomplish their goals? I fear I am too prone to addiction when it comes to flashy, time-wasting media. It is difficult to reach word counts or express the human condition in a narrative when you're always two clicks away from seeing a pair of soft breasts bouncing in your face.
>>25411398Any professional authors with words of encouragement? Or commiserations with a seemingly unavoidable circumstance?
ill bump so you get help
>>25411460Thanks. Perhaps I should have used a thread photo that more directly references what I'm talking about.
>>25411473yes, perhaps.

>>25411398I've just ignored your post, OP, because my dopamine receptors have been triggered by your image and now I have an erection.
>>25411398Not a writer, but as someone (hentai addicted) who always wants to read more:>Must one channel their inner ultra-autist and become a luddite in order to accomplish their goals? It's more of a slow descent into insanity. Try making changes to your lifestyle and keep doing what adds more to your word count. Don't try to understand the reasoning behind the effect of these findings, because some can be vain, nonsensical, or idiosyncratic. They may also be emergent from other parts of your lifestyle. Don't do this all at once. It has to be a gradual build up of your personal wisdom on how to get yourself to meet your word counts. These are just some ideas that I've adapted from N.N. Taleb's Antifragile (in spite of its discursive style).I can elaborate on these if it's still unclear. I'm still trying to apply it to myself, but I don't trust people on the internet to do what they preach.>you're always two clicks away from seeing a pair of soft breasts bouncing in your faceI get around this by masturbating heavily after I wake up, so I don't have such urges too often during the day. If I do, I just save the images/videos and move on. Not saying that you should do the same though.
>>25411398write a little every day. for me there are four types of writers:>the inspired: needs to travel or meet new people to get ideas to write about>the planner: has to have high level of autism, roleplays his fantasy by meticulously planning every character, setting, and plot elements>the talent: decides on a whim to write about something, one shots it, does little to no editing or rewriting, it's rough but good, output will be 2-3 books per decade, with success later in life as they build an intuition for their art through repetition with small variation>the worker: just writes, doesn't have much talent or ability but is humble enough to keep persevering, will produce serviceable product that is well crafted but doesn't spark joythis is because there are 4 types of reader:>the bored>the autist>the curious >the trier (she tries)what has happened is that over time the talented people have moved away from writing into video production because they can achieve their vision much better with modern technology, so writing has become anachronistic attracting pseuds and clowns. eg. today 40 year olds barely grew up reading so you need to spoon feed them fantasy or star wars. in 20 years they will be 60, 40 year olds then will have no connection to the written word, and 20 year olds will be AI bots who have an AI rewriting your work and another AI summarize it, and a third AI animated it, and a fourth AI put the animation in a little tab they have in the bottom corner of their viewport running on mute and 3x speed.so really ur writing for yourself, you should read first and then draw inspiration to write in order to produce things you want to read that don't exist.
