What are some texts I can read and some writing exercises I can partake in to make my brain flexible and gooey again? I grew up with diarrhea of the mouth and got told to shut up enough that I eventually would always be writing my every thought down. Then I turned 10 and was given a smart device with unrestricted internet access, now my brain has become an incongruous slurry of feces due to years of short for content and porn. My only purpose in life is to read and write story's, I feel that deep inside, I just don't know how to back track after fucking my brain over sideways for over a decade now, it feels hopeless but it's all I am.Would some toddler books bring me back to square one? I tried reading Harry Potter but got bored.
>>25411932Try a bunch of different books in various genres. Go to a used bookstore and buy something based off the cover or title. No one book will fix it, it's more like rehabbing an injured limb, it's a long process. Be a more thoughtful reader, go at it slowly. If gamification works for you (and it sounds like it would) give Goodreads a shot, either for logging or communities or even the challenges they do.Your ultimate goal is to find yourself reading a book, setting it down, and thinking on what you just read in detail. Once you're doing that you're basically 95% of the way there.
