The Sunset Limited was total nonsensical drivel, Blood Meridian was a laughable joke, but I really adored The Road. Cormac can write something when he wants to, he just doesn't

You know he’s dead right? He can’t write anything now.

Why did you kill him?

What did you find difficult to understand?

The road sucked. Overrated misery porn garbage with absolutely nothing to say

Have you read any Schopenhauer? Because if you understood anything about Schopenhaurian ethics you would not say this.

>uh why didn't the man have any marvel quips, this is just misery porn
I hate redditors

The Road and Suttree are my favorites so far. I haven't read All The Pretty Horses yet but I doubt it's better. I definitely recommend Suttree, I think it's his best work. The Passenger doesn't get much love but it's pretty good as well.

It's perhaps the most clearly defined message in a McCarthy book. Did you pay any attention to the recurring theme of carrying the flame? What do you think happened in the end?

Blood Meridian is a masterpiece thoughever.

>n-no I haven't read it myself but wendigoon does such a great job telling me the story while removing the icky problematic parts

Not a refutation.

I have in fact read it. Reading isn't as hard as faggots that have to force themselves to do it like to believe.

I don't get what people enjoy about plot synopsis. You're getting an inferior version of the story no matter what gets included or (more importantly) excluded.

The Apache attack scene, for example:
>A legion of horribles, hundreds in number, half naked or clad in costumes attic or biblical or wardrobed out of a fevered dream with the skins of animals and silk finery and pieces of uniform still tracked with the blood of prior owners, coats of slain dragoons, frogged and braided cavalry jackets, one in a stovepipe hat and one with an umbrella and one in white stockings and a bloodstained weddingveil and some in headgear of cranefeathers or rawhide helmets that bore the horns of bull or buffalo and one in a pigeontailed coat worn backwards and otherwise naked and one in the armor of a Spanish conquistador, the breastplate and pauldrons deeply dented with old blows of mace or sabre done in another country by men whose very bones were dust and many with their braids spliced up with the hair of other beasts until they trailed upon the ground and their horses' ears and tails worked with bits of brightly colored cloth and one whose horse's whole head was painted crimson red and all the horsemen's faces gaudy and grotesque with daubings like a company of mounted
clowns, death hilarious, all howling in a barbarous tongue and riding down upon them like a horde from a hell more horrible yet than the brimstone land of Christian reckoning

All of this is presumably summarized in like two or three sentences told slowly to give the illusion of impact. Blood Meridian is not even that hard to read once you get past the sparse punctuation, run-on sentences, and the repetitive structure of the story. None of them have any excuse.

>misery porn
let me guess you lecture people on media literacy
