>he read Don Quixote before L'Morte De Arthur, The Song of Roland, Das Nibelungenlied, The Tale of Igor's Campaign, and Cantar de Mio Cid, The Iliad, and The Aeneid
Useless plebian trash
>>
>want to get into more Arthurian stuff because I loved sir gawain and idylls of the king
>my options are once and future king, a childish retelling from an sjw
>or mort d'arthur, an extremely long and tediously written slog

what exactly links these together in your mind? that they're all old?

whichever one you read first is probably going to be the format, culture or era you're most interested in. it's not much more nuanced than that.

Reading Don Quixote without having first read all the shit that inspired it, it did feel like I was missing out on a lot of the substance of it. The whole thing basically comes off as a screed on how much he hated his is day's equivalent of 'capeshit' and the people who took it too seriously. But that's just an inference.

I read The Once and Future King and called it a day
>>
Why would I need to read Don Juan when I could just read My Diary Desu, the inspiration for Don Juan
>>
Fate/Stay Night is unironically the greatest King Arthur story ever told.
